Over time I have unlocked skins and collected skins that are just sitting in my bank because I don’t really want to apply them to anything at this moment. I have bought the max bank slots and still finding myself short on space.

I was wondering if there could be a Black Lion Merchant or something to trade locked/unlocked unused skins into Transmutation Charges to free up some space.
The skins are in themselves just a free credit for a particular skin. It would allow
for more flexibility to the user to have this option.

Maybe even just the option to right click and convert to a charge?

Please and Thank You!

Agreed! It’s cumbersome as it is right now.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

I would love this. I think I’d get at least 50 bank slots from this (I already have all the bank tabs, so ANet can’t pressure me to buy more). I was going to just toss the skins and transmute at need, until I calculated the “value” of the charges via gems/gold and realized I had over 200 gold in transmutes. I did ditch a few that I am not ever likely to use on any alt, but still, it really would be nice to turn those unlocked skins into charges.

So many +1’s.

Your skins are in your wardrobe. There is no need do save/store skins! Delete them. If you want to use them at some point, just use them from your wardrobe with transmutation charges. I’ve done that with over 400 skins (mostly gemshop skins) and I still don’t understand why anyone would “save” the skin item in his bank instead of just putting it into the wardrobe.

If your real problem is that you don’t have enough “transmutation charges” than just do map completion in every city and every pvp daily. Transmutation charges are one of the few blc items that are literally thrown at you. (I use lots of them and I still have over 250 charges, there is just no way to ever use them all)

This would be a great idea, though it would have to be limited to the first time you unlock the skin. Otherwise, I could buy a boatload of cheap Wintersday weapon skins off the TP for a few copper each and have hundreds of Transmutation charges.

Though really, there’s something to be said about getting rid of transmutation costs entirely. After all, does it really matter whether you change your look every day or not?

Because if you use the skin itself, you don’t have to spend a Transmutation charge.

Not everybody are awesome like you. I only have about 70 charges and I used only one charge so far. And yes I am doing dailies everyday.

I do see the issue with the more common skins… An easy solution however would be that the option is only available with Rare or higher skins. That way common skins like the winters day skins can’t be farmed.
