Q:
Hello all. I’ve recently gotten into wanting to get the Guild Wars Trilogy (Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall) and was seeking to link those with my GW2 account, along with Eye of the North. Problem is, I already own Factions and it’s already linked to my GW2 account, so, my question is:
If I purchased the trilogy as well as Eye of the North, could I still connect those games with my current linked account, effectively overwriting my current link? Or would I have to purchase an entirely NEW GW2 account just to do it?
A:
You can not ‘relink’ an account to your existing GW2 account. You can, however, link new game accounts to your existing GW account (which is, or can be, linked to your GW2 account), as long as you do so at account (new game) creation.
Guild Wars Prophecies, Guild Wars Factions and Guild Wars Nightfall Standard and Collector’s Edition retail game boxes, and Guild Wars: Eye of the North Expansion retail game boxes can be purchased from local or online retailers. Each retail box comes with its own unique access key that can be used to create one game account, or can be added to an existing account to open additional features or new campaigns.
How do I add additional access keys to my existing Guild Wars game account?
If you would like to add additional access keys to your account from within the Guild Wars game client, please follow the instructions provided below:
Launch the Guild Wars game client.
Click the Create Account or Add Access Key option on the login screen.
Click the Add the Access Key to an existing Guild Wars account checkbox.
Enter your account e-mail address and password, followed by the Next> button.
Enter your new access key, followed by the Next> button.
Click the Next> button to accept the addition of your access key.
(You can find more instructions on how to add keys to an NCMaster account, as well as information about adding a Trilogy key to an existing account.)

You would just need to open up the GW1 client, and add the codes to your existing account.
Well, that’s the thing, on NCSoft’s website it states that it adds a single access key for account creation, and that’s what’s bothering me, really. It’s making me think that I’d have to either make a new GW1 account and re-link or get a new GW2 account.

EDIT: That is, if I can re-link at all?

Your situation has been thought of and will work out like it should.

Ah, so I can just make a new GW1 account and re-link with my current GW2 account?
I think it would just see you have Factions already linked and ignore the second addition of it, while still adding in the others, so you have the complete set.

I think that’s the most likely thing to happen, as they probably thought of this. I’ll see if anybody else has a more definitive answer before putting this as the answer.
I very recently added the Platinum Edition (base game + Eye of the North) to my existing Trilogy game. It added it just fine for me; it just gives you a warning telling you that your existing expansions will not be replaced by the new one. So, it should work just fine for you.
If for some reason that doesn’t work, you can make a new account and contact support and ask them to change the new account’s log-in email to the one currently linked.
Thank you guys for your help! Really alleviated some of my concerns here.
EDIT: I wish I could give the answer to more than one, but hey!
