Guild name/tags are a hardcoded or otherwise difficult to influence (after creation) information in the game iirc. Therefore there’s never going to be a “feature” to rename them.

Even CS can’t change a guild name, for example if it’s offensive. If a guild name gets reported, the guild gets deleted and a mark gets put on the guild creator.

Thats wrong, the customer support can definitely change guild names. Most of the guild names I report do get renamed instead of deleted.

Totally Agree, what if someone just want to promote violence and abuse in game and they explicitly state through Guild Names? Renames shouldn’t be as hard to do considering the demand for it is quite high.

Anet forced a name change on my soon to be former guild(not the leader but still) so it can for sure happen.

I was pretty sure I read from something official about guilds being totally deleted because of an offensive name/tag, but perhaps I was mistaken considering you lot have anecdotal evidence.

EDIT: Just did some searching, it seems to be that previously they did delete guilds with offensive names, but now they just rename them. They now only disband guilds under extreme circumstances. I just need to get with the times!

They need to update the game to include this feature… there are many things to add into the equation why we need to rename our guild. They should have thought of this even before release.

Yup. I’m bumping this cause we still haven’t gotten a solid reason why we can’t have this feature or even a gem shop item to let us change guild names.

It could be included as a gem store item, but there may be few guilds wanting a name change.
