I have people ask me where the home instance is on the cultural cities all the time. New players probably don’t even know what that even is, especially since you can’t start your personal story until level 10. Having nodes installed in a home instance is a great and fast way to finish daily gathering achievements, nodes are advertised on the gemstore and we also had the home portal stone, for these reasons alone I believe that a small home instance icon would be useful to have on the map.

All I ask is for an icon on the map of a house, maybe also make it selectable so that we can post it on map chat and make it show it on the map like points of interests/way points etc. Divinity’s Reach = Human home instance, Rata Sum = Asura home instance etc.

tl;dr A simple icon of a house for home instance on the map please.

This would be nice, I have some guildies that are still very unfamiliar with the games mechanics, and don’t have much of an idea as to the locations of the home instance. Something like this might make it a lot easier for them to indicate where it is at.

I wouldn’t be against this. I definitely had trouble finding the home instance in the Black Citadel during the first month or so because I kept passing the entrance and mistakenly tried to get the POIs within from outside the instance.

This happens to alot of new players who try to map out the cultural towns first and the black citadel is a nightmare for new players to map 100% because of these mapped out instances.

I was just talking to a guildie of mine about this idea and we came up with instead of having an icon on the map where it can clutter the map some more, why not simply just put a giant house button below the map completion stats on the map itself or a small button of a house above the mini map. ONLY WHEN IN CULTURAL CITIES DOES THIS APPLY Hey, you never know, maybe we’ll get the fabled guild halls and these buttons can be built into the map to use to travel into a guild hall.

Before anyone starts giving me the “too many resources, we want mounts/expansions” line, this is a very small fix. It is literally one icon, nothing game changing, just a small quality of life change that can help alot of new players and even some veteran players believe it or not.

Maybe just writing ‘Home’ on all the City map Home Instances, instead of only some? That would work for me! =)

I know there are a lot of people who don’t seem to know what a home instance even is. simply placing a house icon in each city and when in said city just put the icon where the portal is.
