Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm the rest of his life.
– Unknown Fire Elementalist
I used to walk into a town, click one button on my mouse, and POOF! – I was in my Town Clothes. (Thanks for nothing… but that’s another thread).
I always had my Brawl weapons on hand as part of my Town Clothes look (Witches Broom, Executioner’s Axe, Mad King’s Scepter, Frying Pan, Wooden Pirate’s Sword, etc).
Now I need to go through the hassle of physically opening my Inventory and double-clicking my Brawl Weapon to equip it. (Thanks for nothing… but that’s another thread).
My issue is that I can no longer “stow” my Brawl Weapons. I have a button set up on my mouse to stow/draw weapons, and I do it all the time outside of town. Staying in my “on the alert” pose in town is really dumb-looking. Please restore the functionality of being able to stow our Brawl Weapons.
Of course, the abbreviated Daily Achievements no longer features Costume Brawl, so it has pretty much died out entirely, which is a shame. It has effectively killed this wonderful in-town activity despite the current overcrowding, so maybe my suggestion is moot. (Thanks for nothing… but that’s another thread).
It used to be open inventory, one click…now open inventory, double-click.
We don’t know if Costume Brawl is out of the rotation for Dailies as no one knows what the final rotation will be.
Stowing the Toy would be a good idea, I imagine. I’ve done Costume Brawl since the Patch, I don’t remember the problem, of course I usually do it outside of cities.

I never even opened my Inventory before. I used the hotkey so a single mouse button click and I was in my Town Clothes with Brawl Weapon at my side ready to go. To do the same thing now (having created a semi-passable “Town Clothes” look out of armor pieces), I need to open my Inventory, double-click all 6 armor pieces, double-click the Brawl Weapon, and close my Inventory again. And I’m still stuck in the silly “ready to fight” stance. Massive inconvenience, going from one mouse click to 16. (Yes, only 4 clicks total if I neglect changing armor). Messes with my digestion as well.
Glad you found something ‘passable’ to use as Town Clothes. =) I’ve always preferred the Costumes, especially for Costume Brawl. But, that’s just me!

Don’t make me get all upset again. I miss my Town Clothes mix-n-match something fierce. I still hit that button on my mouse from force of habit whenever I enter town. Full “set” costumes though? Not for me. To each his own. My heavy-armor Charr may never again have anything resembling Town Clothes. But here’s my Elementalist looking less like a sorceress and more like “one of the commonfolk” (she’s always been very flexible):
Of course she’s flexible, she has a fish tail.
I so miss the instaswap to town clothes. I could be in my leather trenchcoat, click, poof I’ve shucked it and am in a vest/shirt/trousers that clearly I was wearing under the coat! I could dress to fit the mood of a scene, from rough and ready to highly formal, with dyes to extend the wardrobe even further.
And yes, I could carry a winter toy to be my fancy walking stick without looking ready to beat away pickpockets.
Of course she’s flexible, she has a fish tail.
Ahh, somebody remembers Bubbles!
Poor thing had to leave her job at Two-Ters. ANet changed the color of her uniform and turned it into a tonic. So many things lost lately. The social hub at Lion’s Arch. Town Clothes. Peace from Gold Sellers. Consistent Role Playing. Non-Zerg fights. A home server hangout of our very own. Anyplace quiet. Responses from the Developers. A variety of choices in the dailies. Etc, etc…
I’d rather have Scarlet back.
This always annoyed me with the boxing gloves, but wearing the scepter with them at same time let me stand normally. RIP to that since all of them are perma combat stance.
My Boxing Glove days are over. My Asura used to wear boxing trunks (the Khaki shorts) and shoes, with no shirt. A really nice looking Boxing outfit. Now I am forced into a full non-dyable set of clothing complete with Aviator Glasses. Seriously? Boxing with Sunglasses? They took away my “BAM” and “POW” animations. The gloves are just totally shot.
And my Sonic Tunneling Tool is always out and running. I can’t stow it on my back anymore. Thpppt!
Check out my “Boxer” look before and after the Patch. Tell me which one is better:
(Sorry… I keep getting back to the Town Clothes fiasco. Can’t help myself. I lost out big time on that deal.)
