For those who played this game for a long time, you probably remember the huge feature patches we got for a few months.
For those who didn’t or don’t remember.

I for one liked this system a lot. What it did was in my opinion much more than other delivery systems have.
To sum it up. It went like this.
To me this sounds great. But how is that better than the Quarterly update system?
What that does is simply put.
The main common point these share are time between announcement and release.
What the Feature patch does better is the fact that there is one topic released, time for feedback, and then another topic released. And with the FSP here now, this system could help gather more feedback.
Any thoughts and opinions on the subject? I’d like to hear them, just please be constructive with your post. If this was all gibberish to you I’ll do my best to explain.
I agree. I don’t know what’s up with anet & that “high concept” or “high level” stuff. Just say what you have so far even if things will change. That’s one of the reasons I miss Ready Up. But I guess it’s to be expected with balance being in the hands of different people.

I liked how the old system not only teased, but allowed discussion between devs and commnity, especially on balance concerns. It was strange not seeing that this time around, it could have given the community a chance to help address balance issues before live.

This is the main thing I’ve been noticing.
They improved with this new quarterly update. But they need to push past the boundaries once more. If they go back to this I think that just might get them to where they need to be in terms of feedback and information distribution.
Any other thoughts? Agree, Disagree?
i think it would be better if devs were given more freedom to just drop things in whenever as opposed to holding everything back so we can all make a big fuss, get overhyped and maybe disappointed
Agree. Old format of information delivery so you knew what to expect was better.
But as goat says, don’t hold back on a fix for a release date.
If I have kitten in a fence in the winter do i wait to fix it during my big spring landscaping?
If i have a bill that is due tomorrow do I wait until i have five or six bills just so i can pay them all at once?
I’d agree with your info delivery suggestions if ArenaNet could be accurate with them. It hasn’t been accurate lately. A ton of the hype for HoT from ArenaNet was really misleading. We are almost 4 months after the release of HoT and there are still many items they touted were in the expansion that aren’t even in the game yet. Until their words match their actions I don’t think it matters much. Would I like to see them do what they say? Totally!
