Salvage greens or blues for better MF drops?

In the article today it was stated that we will soon be able to salvage blues and greens for a chance at magic find consumables. Can any dev confirm whether salvaging greens will give a better chance at dropping a magic find consumable than blues?

Thank you,

I’d really like to know if these consumables will be permanent additions to our account-wide mf bonus, or if they’ll be like boosters/food that only lasts for a short while…

I think salvaging in general is a problem. I hate having to click yes over and over or digging through my bags.

It would be nice, especially with this new system, if they would take out that verification popup for salvaging greens…I like it for rares and exotics, in case you click on them by accident or with the wrong kit or something, but it’s not really necessary for anything less than a rare.

My guess for why they have a verification salvaging Masterwork items could be because at one point they thought that this level of rarity would be one more common among the player-base, and that Rare and Exotic would be harder to come by. At some point they made the two higher tier items more readily available, but forgot about the Masterwork items needing the verification. This is just pure speculation though, so take it with a large lump of salt.

I agree, TriggerSad. I would still like a Dev comment if possible.

my guess is they’re gonna slip in “magic find cookie” (changeable name) in the mids of all those mats from salvage.
like..
0/10MFC=1%MF,
0/15MFC=
2%MF ,
0/20MFC=+3%MF and so on.. account bounded achievements…

I was thinking the same … https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Magic-Find-merged/2444082

It doesn’t have to be permanent(although that would be preferable …), it just has to be “long enough”. As the MF stacks in intensity you would start getting less and less of fine and masterwork so the MF would naturally start falling again. It would be a self regulating cycle. Of course you could also buy fine and masterworks to salvage but that is probably not going to be worth it.

All of the above is also a possibility. The temporary can be a common salvage while the permanent one would be rarer(sell more BL kits?).
