Count me in if these slots are account-bound.
Just widen your inventory window, so you dont have to scroll down.
You cna also use the search function in your inventory, searching for masterwork will reduce it to all masterwork items, for example, same for rare, exo and common.

Yes, there is the option to change the size of the inventory window but this option would let the players have the kit at hand at all times no matter which window size they want to use.
I like the size I use bcs it let me know exactly where the items are at all times and doesn’t cover the screen, letting me do stuff on the inventory while I play.
I also want to make clear that with this idea the players that still want to have their kits on the normal inventory would be able to do it too. This would be like a quick slot.
I love your idea. We could add a place for it like with the mining pick for example. Yes, agreed. +1
A variation on this (and would also be a solution to this)…..
I would like to see an account bag slot added to the game, purchasable for gems. Same as other bag slots where you equip whatever size bag you want but the bag is shared by all characters on your account. This would be a nice QoL change I think. I use several items across multiple characters (salvage kits, consumables, ascended/legendary weapons/armor, etc.) and being able to have a bag slot that stays constant across all of my characters would be great. Granted we have the bank to do something similar but if I want to get the items from one character to another I have to bring the first to a bank before logging out and bring the second to the bank after logging in. It isn’t a gigantic hassle but an account bag would just make it much easier and I would gladly pay for the ability.
so instead of buying 3 salvage kits and using up 3 inventory slots you put all 3 in the salvage kits?
thats nice
I like it, though, I can see folk who bought multiple everlasting harvesting tools screaming for refunds because now they have extras, lol. I have multiple of those but I also have more avies that don’t have kits so it is a pain to retrieve them when you need them. This would go a long ways towards solving that. Having a bag that shows in inventory account-wide that takes only account wide items would be very nice. Great idea +1 here as well.
I like the idea of the account bag, that could be very nice. I play a game that have something similar and is quite useful.
I want to make clear that in my original idea the savage kit slots weren’t account shared but I like that idea too.
The idea is kind of a QoL improvement. The idea was mainly to have the kits at one side to be able to scroll the bag without lose sight over the kits, when we use any bag window size. Ofc, for the ones that use the bag window at its max size this may not make a difference. Also, this change would allow people that don’t like it, to keep using the kits from the normal bag slots, so, it wouldn’t be something like “must use” or “must buy”.

I definitely LOVE this idea! I agree it would be a gem store item but I wouldn’t mind paying for this convenience either.
I would also like to keep the salvage kit activated after salvaging a Yellow item.
People say its a safety measure but isn’t the warning prompt a safety measure and not having to re-select the kit after salvaging.

If it was done as I have suggested before where in the hero tab there would be a tab for tools where the dyes/minis/equip/wardrobe/etc. If you have multiple tools of the same kind you could be allowed to get them switched for another tool skin. Then each toon would select the tool skin/animation that best fits them. Pretty much the way now you can put a check mark on the mini you want to use with that toon. Any extra after the skin swap would need a refund.
Also add functionality to infinite salvage tools so you can right click them and now have a option pop up that lets you select to salvage all white items or blue or green etc. and you would have like a check box beside each so you could select multiple choices once you click on the ones you want to activate you would hit a salvage button and every item you selected would go poof

Yes, we should have an option that let us select which kind of items we want to be able to salvage without confirmation.

I would like that too. Maybe that could solve the other problem too, since we would get only one confirmation window.

Was about to start a new topic and saw this one when checking for something similar.
I like the ideas above but if I might throw in a twist. Allow players to additionally stack charges of a like type. So instead of having 1 kit that has 7 charges and two with 25 they have only 1 of 57. If the collect another 25 and select to stack it then they have one of 82. The charges would only be combined in like types of kits. All master work together, all black lion, all novice and such. This alone cold save space if players already have multiple of the same type.
I am advocate of the salvage-o-matics but I would still find this a positive feature for my toons with and without it.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
That’s a daym fine idea!

@TheGrimm.5624 I like that idea, it would be great to have that. Sadly I don’t know if they will do something like that (or any of this post’s ideas) bcs that is the benefit the gem ones give.
Maybe if the salvage kit slot items show the sum of all the kits of the same kind (to be able to use them together) but the kits at the bag still would use the same amount of slots. It would be far from be like your idea but would be better than what we have now.
