Oh! I just received a piece of ascended gear, but it’s a shame I do not require the stats that come with it. I guess I’ll just salvage it and expect to receive at least a glob of ectoplasm because it is a higher tier than exotic; so that’s what I would expect.

Why the heck can we not salvage ascended gear? Am I just supposed to let it collect dust in my bank?

I’ve stored all the gear I can store… I wish I could put it in my personal guild bank, but you cant put account/soul bound gear in gbank… So I’ve began selling all acended gear if its useless to me. I’m currently storing over 40 pieces already and I have no more room for it.

Yeah that’s exactly why we need to be able to salvage them, or at least sell them to merchants for a decent price.

Now you can understand the pain of those who do fractals. I have two bank tabs full of just ascended rings.

Allow these poor folks to salvage them for Dark Matter at least. No economic impact and they get something out of it.

I dont think it should be able to be sold on TP. otherwise it might become too easy to get. Having it soulbound makes you craft it yourself or actually go out and find some from the hardest content. If you could just buy it, it would be no harder to get than exotic armor. Then I could just run CoF and champ trains to get it

I agree with OP, it’s been mentioned since the day Fractals opened and people started getting Ascended Rings. Personally I’d quite like to be able to salvage them for a bit of Orichalcum or perhaps (and i’d like this very much) some

So I could then take that and infuse the rings/back items I actually want to use and have yet to get an infused version drop in fractals. (also through lack of playing fractals as I’m bored to death of doing it lol).

I’d like a salvage option AND some option to turn in Tier 7 materials for goods cosmetics etc that are very difficult to find under their current draconian DR-RNG loot system.

There is so much silliness in this thread.

You do realize not only was it requested that ascended boxes have stat choice options, right after it went live right? You do realize the developers KNOWINGLY put these drops in, both the boxes and the items, completely confident you would not get what you wanted 90% of the time. You do realize there is no real end game content and all they can serve up (the developers and designers) is the gear-chase, right?

GW2 is nothing more than a gear-chase.

2 years later and you still expect something else? Seriously………

I don’t even care if they give us good craft mats for salvaging them. Just give us the Essence of Luck.
