So ive been wondering for awhile now and havent been able to find out but is it possible to swap the stats of one gear with another? While keeping both of the gears intact.

Also is it possible to remove an upgrade from a piece of gear(sigil, jewel, etc) WITHOUT destroying the gear?

I do not think there is a way to keep both pieces of gear and swap the stats. That would invalidate the point of forcing people to buy transmutation crystals.

And I know no way of taking a sigil out and keeping it without salvaging the item. I know you can replace sigils obviously, but the old one is destroyed.

Nope to both questions.

Transmutation deletes/combines both items into 1 “new” item.

It’s usually the PRIMARY stats, not the Upgrade slot that most people Transmute for…

I think a better question is: Why don’t we get “Insignias” from salvaging Masterworks & Rares? We used to get insignias off of gear in GW1…. And you just KNOW Anet’s going to bring back “Perfect” salvage kits some day anyway. So they might as well just bring back Insignia salvaging as well.

Those would be the Black Lion Salvage Kits.

I’ve also tranmuted for the purpose of getting the upgrade slot but that was for the Lyssa runes.

I’ve transmuted an item just to get the socket. Lionguard Sword of Karka Slaying. It was the only thing I could spend 70,000 commendations on.
