Save traits on unequipped specializations
Agreed. And not just remembering traits, but in general having a build template feature would be very useful. (And it is something that’s been asked for pretty much since the game’s release.)
Agree. This would be super useful.
or….. you know…. they could implement the system completely instead of partially…. and give us the ability to save and load entire build templates.
oh if only. Some kind of hotswap panel i can bring up with a single click rather than occluding my entire view with the cumbersome hero panel would be welcome as well.
Build templates should be one of their highest priorities. It is extremely asinine having to change EVERY PIECE OF GEAR and each trait all the time. PvE, Roaming to the zerg, zerg, small grp, etc etc. It really lowers the enjoyment of the game for me.
I especially hate that I HAVE to open the hero tab because the game is too stupid to change the second ring and accessories (it would have have been hard…pseudo→if=change(first ring)<5s, change(second ring)).
Currently, when you select a specialization, you have to reselect all your traits for it. This makes theorycrafting and toggling between 2 specializations unnecessarily arduous.
When most players change specializations (i.e. for switching between group and solo play) they will likely reuse a prior trait setup. They are also unlikely to switch away from favorite or meta traits.
This would greatly reduce both the number of clicks for switching builds and the memory burden on players with many characters.
Yeah we all want saveable builds but a-net hates us /cry
That is one awesome ideea. Tumbs up!
I’m finding mysef switching really often depending on enchounter or boss and is a pain in the “huhu” to reassign every time when in a rush.
Saving builds might need some extra icons but how about making it remember the settings and when u get back to Virtues for example, it founds them in the last state of modification instead of reset state?
Yeah, I posted this suggestion last week. Definitely needs to happen.
This has been something we have been asking for since it GW2 was released. For those of you who played GW1 like myself, you were able to hot swap pre-made/saved builds once you were in a town (aka player lounge). I know the biggest kick back on this in GW2 has been, “what prevents people in PvP hot swapping builds during fights”. This one thing has been the old rocking chair in the night that stubs your toe and ends up removing your toe nail.
With this said, it is time they make a change as they are relieing more and more on set play styles. According to Anet, HoT will be the first wave in class elite specializations. So something has to be done to allow players to easily switch between builds needed to run certain content. Otherwise this will box many into playing only one style and gimping group activities from PvP to PvE.
Since we can no longer run to a town (could but pointless) to swap builds, the easier solution is to do what other MMOs have already done.
1) Make sure you cannot swap builds in combat.
2) Make the build swapping placed on timer that requires you not to get hit for 5 seconds to complete build swapping. If hit during this time period, the character is interrupted and swapping does not take place until combat has been resolved.
This would embrace build variation. Seems pretty apparent Anet aren’t into that anymore.
or….. you know…. they could implement the system completely instead of partially…. and give us the ability to save and load entire build templates.
If only that was true. I do hope this system was one step further to making us save our build.
