So back in gw1 you had max level armor that could be worn by new characters, so you could farm up a set, give all the mats needed to your lowbie, run them to the crafter and equip them with max level gear which I believe would scale with them until they hit 20.

What I’m wondering is, since gw2 already has downscaling as part of it’s core system to allow players to visit and play with old content, how hard would it be to allow max level gear to be worn by lower level characters. I’m not sure what kind of an impact this would have on the cheaper gear market, but I know that more often than not I find myself just running around with level 20-30 gear until I hit cap, and then immediately just upgrading all of my gear to either honor, dungeon or karma exotics all in one go. Looking at the market, most of the gear out there seems to be sitting just barely above vendor prices, so it’s not like there’s much demand for that kinda stuff.

GW2 does have it already. They are lvl 80 exotic , account bound, crafted sets. There are several.

These sets downscale when you equip them on an alt. Personally I have not tried them out cause, dont need to and I cant sell them since they are account bound so I just havent made any.

I forgot their exact names, but one of them is called ineffable, another protean, there are quite a few. You can just look it up from these 2 keywords on google / wiki.
