Scarlet event completion survey
Piken Square here as well. I’ve only been doing the invasions when not in overflow (I think my average is 3 invasions/a week) and have not managed to defeat her once since the end of Clockwork Chaos :p.
I haven’t seen it completed in weeks. Seems everyone just wants to farm the champs and aren’t worried about completing the event because “the rewards suck”. Borlis Pass server
Bouncing between Anvil Rock and Stormbluff, and been in maybe half a dozen invasions over the past week or so, and not once did any of them come close to getting to the Scarlet part … as was mentioned, once the aetherblades hit, it’s champ-farming time.

The Walkers and the Whispers, ANVIL ROCK
I have never bothered to do this event. I even skipped the entire august update. Couldn’t care less. GW2 has become such a grind fest. And after the sparky mini debacle I outright stopped buying stuff from the gemstore. Now I only logon for new content and once that’s done I stop playing until the next update. Ascended crafting? Don’t make me laugh. I maxed all crafts within weeks after launch. It’s a money sink and not worth the time. So disappointed.
I did the first few… after that I couldn’t be bothered.
The invasions I’ve seen recently have been running behind schedule with lack of people then grind to a halt on the aetherblades. I’ve done some captains with 3 or 4 people faster than the zerg with every other player in the zone, the hp bars scale that badly . Since the event never gets completed the people who want completion rewards stop showing and then the champ farmers stick to frost gorge (or wherever) too.
At least it will be healthier than Tequatl.
Zero completions since early in the second week of Clockwork Chaos. But then, I’m one of those that only shows up to farm champs. I’m not against completing, but it’s not a priority.
Fort Aspenwood and we don’t even come close the last times we’ve attempted.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Tarnished Coast here…
I cannot speak for any of the times I wasn’t there, but in the invasions I have participated in, not one has been completed since day 2 of Clockwork Chaos.
(Opinion Alert!) If the rewards for defeating her were better than the rewards for deliberately failing to farm champs, then I think it would be completed more often.
Unfortunately, that means the best way to implement changes to encourage completion would be what they have done with Taco. Make the champs drop nothing and only give out (decent) rewards when the event succeeds.
I am not necessarily advocating that specific remedy, but it’s the only way I see to “fix” it so that it’s more economical to complete than not.
“Unfortunately, that means the best way to implement changes to encourage completion would be what they have done with Taco. Make the champs drop nothing and only give out (decent) rewards when the event succeeds.”
They should really only spawn champions at the end of portal/AB events, and then give a reward for beating the champion (but have normal and veteran mobs drop nothing). For that matter, the overall invasion bar should just track champs killed. It would bring reward incentives in line with event success.
The aetherblade stage tracks the number of captains killed, who are champions. Reducing the champion loot from the aetherblade stage isn’t an answer in itself unless the whole event can surpass a champion train elsewhere for gold. I could suggest the problem is with the very popular champ trains but rewards have always been out of balance all across the game. Dragonite and empyreal have improved the rewards of some old content but (I’m assuming) the invasion doesn’t even promise enough dragonite for an hour event.
No idea how many times … 4 or 5. maybe. No success on FC. Last time didn’t even get through the second clockwork phase to get to the Aetherblades. Event scaling seems to be designed so that servers with small populations are unlikely to succeed at much in the way of ANet’s grandiose events.
To top it off, RNG is having a laugh at my expense. Despite opening a lot of champion boxes since the hourly invasions ended, I’ve gotten 0 rares, 0 exotics, 0 ascended and a fraction of the cores (etc.) that I got earlier.
I am on SoR.
After the event was updated last I have not been present for a single completion and suspect that it has not been completed since then.
I used to attend as many as possible because the rewards are reasonable but lately I don’t bother at all. Usually a mild argument breaks out between those that want to complete the event and those that just want to farm the Aetherblade Champions.
I used to get a very high percentage of the rewards even a few days after the last update but with most people leaving the fights the second the Champs are down to zerg the next one, the up scale effect leaves some people suddenly in some deep trouble against a great deal of damage.
I just don’t enjoy failing an event or bouncing all over the map trying to keep up with the Champ farmers just to survive for a moderate amount of loot. If you happen to be with the right group and follow the right leader you can grab plenty but that has been more of a gamble recently.
I also had one incident where something applied 22 stacks of bleed on me, I cleansed it and got hit with another stack of I don’t know how many again. That just put me off the event for a while. I think it was the end result of an up scale situation where most of the zerg blitzed away to something more rewarding and left a handful of us in dire straits. I am not entirely sure because I was pretty frustrated about that one.
Gunnar’s Hold here
I have been to one or two invasions since the Clockwork update ended and people were not interested in completing it at all- the feeling on the maps were hey champs whoo-hoo.
Since I can’t be bothered to farm champs, I just way-pointed out and went on with what I was doing at the time.
I don’t respond to them any more.
I’m not going to do content that the outcome is entirely depended on whether enough people happened to show.
Individual event scaling in this game is TERRIBLE and this meta-event multiplies that issue to the Nth degree.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Just completed it this evening on an Overflow (I suspect mostly from Tarnished Coast). It really comes down to how many people get tunnel vision farming champions.
That said, that’s really all these invasions are. They’re a champion farm, meant to throw farmers into zones not named Cursed Shore.

I’ve done it 2 or 3 times on my home server (Gunnar’s Hold) but neither has finished. All got to the final wave but were not all that close to completion when the timer ran out.

Always remember Wheaton’s Law
I tried doing it Tuesday night for aetherblade daily, which was the first time I’ve done it in at least a few weeks. Never got up to the Aetherblade wave unfortunately.
BTW, when did they change the way the waves work? Cause it didn’t have the waves together, it was scarlets minions, then molten, then scarlet second wave (and thats where we timed out).
Please give us a keyring…

I believe it was with the introduction of the Tequatl patch. It was suppposedly done to stop the conflict between farmers squatting on Aetherblade groups to the exclusion of everything else (even after the Aetherblade portion was deemed completed).
I just don’t think it’s actually changed anything. Farmers still squat on the Aetherblades, and now whine their farming has gone to kitten because now everyone is stealin’ their kills.
I don’t do them anymore.
The problem is it takes forever to get through each minion stage. Every invasion I’ve done since then required at least ten minutes to get the bar done, even with all the farmers killing them to get at the aetherblades. That’s 30 min per 45 min invasion just fighting those mobs, which I’ll admit I’m bored to death with anyway. No point bothering with it any more.
