Resonating Sliver should be a craftable item based on materials found in the regular world. Example recipes:

  • 100 Dragonite, 100 Empyreal Fragments, 100 Bloodstone Dust, 100 Mithril
  • 100 Dragonite, 100 Empyreal Fragments, 100 Bloodstone Dust, 100 Platium
  • 100 Dragonite, 100 Empyreal Fragments, 100 Bloodstone Dust, 100 Iron

The current system favors larger guilds that can focus their resources to advance scribes. Consider leveling the playing field or removing the current requirement for Slivers in recipes.

Probably not going to happen. I assume they want you to buy it from other players.

Doesn’t change a thing. If they want us all to be in 500 man guilds then don’t allow a guild to be created with out 500 people. Else balance their game.

Would be nice if a crafting profession like a scribe could offer their services to smaller guilds for a commission.

Two scribes, one on a 10 man guild and one in a 500 man guild could mine the mates I am proposing in the same time singly.

That’s the difference.

Look at the LFG, people are already doing that. So you are good with a tax on the smaller guilds that the larger don’t face? Cool, send your local government more of your income then is taxed already.

Where are you getting all the brown pigments to keep up with the slivers?

Some recipes don’t call for it. Check your mail. And yes potato farming. But your question still shows even removing the silvers larger guild will retain an edge even with this change. So why not?

There is a cap on missions. So more players in a guild the more slivers. I don’t disagree that larger guilds can still outmine smaller ones, but at least the smaller guilds can offset that by spending more time to balance out the difference, which is how they are keeping up with larger guilds in the guild hall updates.

I don’t think you are comprehending something,

100 iron is ~ 2.7g atm
100 platinum is ~ 2.15g atm
100 mithril is ~ .9g atm
1 resonating sliver is ~ .48g atm

even if you balance out the math so its the same, all you are doing is making resonating sliver even easier for larger guilds to aquire and probably widening that gap. If resonating slivers become “worthless”, in the future anet will introduce ways to remove that glut and small guilds will once again be on the short end.

So what it boils down to, and has been spoken 50 different ways already, large guilds have more players and thus have more resources. Small guilds have less players and thus have less resources. If you want more resources increase guild size or increase play time to EARN gold to buy them from other players off tp.

The OP wants ANet to change the source for an item, without addressing the reasons that it might have been introduced with limited sources.

Guild Hall (and scribing) balance is designed for larger guilds, not max-sized guilds. 95% of the game is designed in a way that suits small guilds; very little is appropriate for bigger guilds.

I agree it would have been nice for ANet to have set things up so that small (20-50 member) guilds could build some stuff quickly and medium guilds (50-150) would be better suited for the next stage and that only the top level stuff would be hard for anything smaller than 400+. However, that doesn’t make the system “imbalanced” — it only means it’s not everyone’s idea of balance.

Removing upgrades from existing guilds and then gating them behind this grind was a bad idea for those players who prefer playing in smaller guilds.

Gating it all behind various walls, and then gating behind a crafter (wait until your scribe quits the game, then you’ll see what a bad idea it was) were further bad ideas. And then they thought that the new banners would be a good idea- again put behind a grind wall.

All of the changes mean that small guilds are left in the dust by larger ones- if that isn’t your definition of imbalance then your horse riding knows no bounds.

Of course, it’s all fine if you belong to a large guild full of farmers- but for smaller, friendly guilds these guild changes have been awful.

Ah … I see the problem now. While brown pigments do suck because you need them at every level but it turns out that is also true for Resonating Slivers as well. The sliver requirement is just slightly less obvious because you have to refine them up to higher tiers.

While the brown pigments are a constant 10 the requirements for slivers grow exponentially.

80% of the cost of a Guild Bar’s 522g price tag comes from 422g of Resonating Slivers.
