So, I’ve been putting lots of things into the mystic toilet recently and wondered if it was ok to use a script to automate the clicking-intensive process.

I apologise if I couldn’t find an existing answer on this or if this is not the right section, but I’m not often on these forums and don’t know where else to post this

I just want to be sure I won’t be banned, that wouldn’t be worth it, and while I think that even if it can be detected it wouldn’t be a reason for a ban, it’d be nice to have that confirmed.

I believe it is “illegal” to do so and can be associated with botting

No.

One press per action is the basic rules.

I’d say no, since something as harmless as using an autoclicker to open stacks of (luck | coins | champ bags | mat bags | etc) have been forbidden in the past.

That said — they’d never know (as long as you’re not sending events faster than humanly possible), so kitten it

As far as we know anything that converges more than one action into a single input is banned except musical instruments, with the exception within there that Bell Choir activity macroing is also banned.

If your script puts 4 items in and clicks ‘craft’, it’s probably not going to be acceptable. If it converts the double clicking of an item into a single click/key, it’s debatable, but probably acceptable as the ‘doubleclick’ still results in the single result of ‘select item’.

Back into the related discussion of whether making an autoclicker to open 250 bags was acceptable, it was debatable and probably acceptable to make a macro that double clicked to halve the number of clicks, but probably not acceptable to make one that clicks 500 times, so the best way to do it without running afoul of their guidelines was to bind a click to a mousewheel and scroll.

Haha, I hadn’t seen that suggestion. Brilliant. I’ll have to setup a new profile on my mouse….

One press per action is the basic rules.

That would mean though that I can have a script that clicks on the first item when I press the “1” key and so on and then I press the 1-key 2-key 3-key and 4-key each twice to input my four materials. That would be one action per key press, but still take the load off my mousefinger, right?

Why should someone use junk like this, if it would be just simple better, if ANet would improve the Mystic Forge with Quality of Life Changes that let the Mystic Forge simly automaticalyl forge what you want to forge to the point, until you run out of materials.
Just works woth Crafting too ,so I don’t understand, why Anet didn#t implement the same mechanism to the Mystic Forge too ???

Choose your 4 Items, if you have enough materials to forge multiple items of the same type, then you can choose before you start the forging, if you want to forge just one, or all, until material run out and if you choose all, then the forge creates automatically your chosen item, until you have no materials anymore for it.

Another QoL improvement for the Forge would be, that it simply MEMORIZES all of the unlocked “Mystic Forge Recipes” and shows them in List Form to you,. again like Crafting and when you click on a MFR, then all the materials get automatically put into the forge, without that you have to double click them anymore from your inventory.
This way by using the MFR-Memory, you could put then also items into the forge, that aren’t currently in your inventory, but instead in your Account Chest, so that a player wouldnt have to run anymore permanently between chest and forge to get new materials into the inventory to use for the forging …

Same as that ANet should finally add this QoL feature of using up Stacks of an item instantly just with 1 single click by choosing the option of “use all”

In case for example of Luck, the game would then simply summorize all the luck of that stack together and simply show you then directly the total amount of luck gained by that.

Example: Stack of 250 10 Luck Essences, = total of 2500 Luck.
instead of clicking 500 times to get shown 250 times +10 Luck.

You would have to do just only 2 clicks (1 right click on the stack, one for clicking use all) and you would see then just one single +2500 Luck number on the screen instead of 250 single +10s after another. This QoL improvement woudl surely improve also alot the game7server performance, due to alot lesser clicks ect. lesser work for the servers for sure somewhere…

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

According to their guidelines that would indeed be one action per press. It would be difficult to outlaw using keys to move the cursor, as that would also entirely outlaw the use of mousekeys. So what you stated according to what they previously said should be within their range of acceptable behaviour, unless they choose to override it with a new guideline.

I know where you’re coming from, since I crafted 180 superior rams for my use as a WvW Com. That entails 360 rams, 900 of mith and elder, and 180 siege guides… and 4×2×180 clicks.

It was horrible.

I generate a lot of luck doing what I do, and even though I do craft them down and go through the click-hell every so often to purge my bank, I usually have up to 10 stacks of the exotic essences sitting in my bank, waiting until I’m bored enough to just sit and click (…5000 times x_x).

A “Use All” button would be just so amazing, although I’m eager to try out the mousewheel trick.
