Underworld

Why is it not in game yet? : )
Minor runes everywhere.
*EDIT: by “sell junk” option I mean: being abble to configure the sell junk option.
Title title had to be smaller ; )

There is a sell junk option at the vendors. Only gets rid of grey items though. A set as junk option would be cool to see. Those runes are indeed annoying.
An option of rarity to sell would be nice. I sell grey, blue, and green everything to the vendor.
Definitely agree. Don’t see why there isn’t one.
I usually crack jokes about “I press Sell Junk, but the runes are still there!” so, yeah, I can see utility in this. Reminds me of the Scrap add-on for WoW, actually. Being able to declare certain items as junk (like gear outside your class usage), is pretty handy.
So, what, they’re supposed to keep an indefinitely long list of junk items for each player? Sounds pretty silly to me.
Sell all blue runes/sigils
Sell all green runes/sigils
Something like that would be nice.

That kind of info could be stored on the player side. No sense in cluttering up server data with that kind of preferential data.
and THAT"S why Anet should allow add-ons, ESO has that option and guess what i have, an add-on that can be fully configured to my specific wants:

You should be forging your minor rune/sigils.
You should be salvaging your white and blue gear items.
You should be forging your green items.
It would be very nice if this could be configured.
It is also confusing having so many types of trophy items. I had to explain to someone new to the game that not all trophies are the same. Trophy w/ grey name is junk to sell. Trophy w/ white name is probably an event item and trophy w/ white name that also says salvageable can be salvaged or sold.
I would love to see these items simply marked with the types “Junk”, “Scrap” and “Event Item”. Less confusing and easier to tag for mass sale or salvage.
Which also brings up, it would be nice to have, along with this, a mass salvage button. Item types marked for salvage could all be salvaged at once with a single button using salvage tools only up to a configured grade. For example, one might salvage all white and blue items with only crude or basic salvage kits in inventory.

It’d ended up selling more than you want.
Some useful or important stuffs are blue too, such as food and consumables.
Then people will whine about this feature selling too many stuffs and ask for further identification of which blue and which green.
If I am Anet, I’d totally ignore you guys because it’s just a bunch of trouble that benefits very few minority, yet potentially causing more problems and whines.
mtpelion If you have time for that good for you. But I’m fine just recycling and NOT spending hours on the mystic toilet ; )

Hours aggregate, perhaps, but more like 10 minutes at the end of my day. Or the start of my day, if I decided not to do it. Or maybe not at all if I didn’t get anything worth forging.
I sell my green gear, salvage apart white and blue gear, rares and up are on a case-by-case. (Do I have the skin? Do I have three or more of the same weapon type? Did I just use a bunch of Ectoplasm?)
i like getting mats that i figure i will want to use eventually so i salvage everything including rares that are high enough to get ectos
double click the item you want to sell…..pretty easy.

It takes like a 30 sec run to the MF, a few minutes to toss and a 30 sec run back to the bank (or merch). I do it a few times a week or when ever the MF daily pops. You do need some open storage to gather them up (so that can be an issue for some players), but time is not really a large factor.
Making some settings that allow you to define what is actually JUNK would be a nice feature, but ranting as to why it’s not in the game already is being overly critical.
NOTE: see how I avoided the obvious crude comments about, “…spending hours on the mystic toilet….”
Even the ability to sort the merchant sell screen by rarity would be nice.
A little mistake here grimm
You seem to have misunderstood making a rant thread with making a suggestion thread.
I’m sure if you take the time to read you’ll see it.
Plus since you have all that time available from using the mystic forge super fast it shouldn’t bother you too much ; )

Not quite so simple. Taking a 1 in 5 chance for an upgrade, you would need 16 of an item to get an upgrade (source: wiki) .
Sigil/Rune:
So for minor sigil 16 * 16 copper = 2s 56c by the time you get a rare
Rare sigils are 3.kitten average or 2.9s after TP tax, so you do all that work for about 30 copper per upgrade, or 6c per forge. Not worth it in my book. Minor runes are slightly better at 26c/forge, but even if it only takes you a minute, you could have mined a few nodes and made much more. Perhaps you could save up the rares and forge those, but I shudder to think of the inventory juggling.
White/blue – yes salvage most unless they are leather.
Greens – Not so simple – depends on the green’s merch value and price of corresponding rares. Forge (or TP for someone else to forge) greatsword, sword, dagger, staff. Salvage light armor greens. Sell other 1s98c greens, as forging a rare from these will cost ~32s on average and rares can be bought for much cheaper. Forging cheaper greens could be ok, but 16 equal about 21s and you could just sell quick and buy a rare on order to save the trip to the forge.

auto-deposit mats option would save a ton of time and lowers the chance on a full inventory just because of mats.
