The Tiny Yuno Sniper of Ebay [EBAY]

1-Sell directly on TP? seems to be 7-8s/ea
2-Open and then sell contents on TP?
Which is the best option if you want to make money? (I’m partial to having the food and utility items as well, they are always useful. Although gold is the primary desire)
I mean what kind of rare drops can you get from the presents?
-booze is primary income (some1 said drop rate is ~80% from presents). worth 8-9.5s/ea
-chance of miniature (skritt (about 1-2 g)), not sure if there are any others
-candy canes 2-3 S a piece. decent cash if you get enough together.
-most food items useful to just hang onto, although some net 2-3s each.
-Snowflakes= very worthless on TP, might as well just hang onto
That’s been my experience with presents thus far. Is there anything else rare that fetches a pretty penny that might determine which route to go? There’s some recipes I know, not sure if any are worth over a gold or not.
I mean basic math if it really is 80% drop rate. Then 80% of the max sellling cost 9.5s (you gotta be lucky for that though) is 7.6s. So if you sell presents above 7.6s you are making more money than from the booze sales. But plenty of others stuff drops that other 20% of the time along with the booze when it does drop, stuff that can be sold for money although lesser amounts it seems. Or in other words if you have 100 presents its 100×7.6 (list price) = 760. Vs 80 × 9.5 = 760.

You can find the possible contents of Wintersday Gifts here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wintersday_Gift
The Enchanted Snowball Box currently goes for 45 Gold, and the Snowman for 27 Gold, so there’s that.
Good luck.

Open them. All kinds of beneficial things from those
A good rule of thumb is that if you have to ask “which is better”, then you should sell. The people who make more on the contents study price histories and patterns and are comfortable speculating on expected profits.
The actual values depend if you price your wares aggressively or accept whatever offers are out there. Generally speaking, you can make more from the contents during early days of an event and as time passes, people start undercutting each faster and prices drop faster for the contents than for the gifts themselves. However, at any given point in time, the value of the contents often depends a lot on low-drop-rate items, which means if you open “only” 5,000 at a time, you might get lucky or unlucky.

Keep them in your bank and sell them unopened when the event is over.
Supply will decrease by 1 present/day instead of hundreds and the demand won’t decrease by that amount.
