What do you think a Gift of Mastery is worth?

I have some gold, my friend has an abundance of karma and gifts of exploration. I’d like to work out a deal that’s fair to both of us.

Have you actually traded for one and if so, how much did you give/get? If you haven’t done the trade yourself, but have the gold, how much would you offer a friend for it? If you have the gifts of exploration sitting around, how much would you want for them?

The trend in some 8-month (or older) posts seems to be:

• buyers offer 250-300g
• sellers ask for 500-700g
• 300g seems to be common from people claiming to have seen this in action

inb4: yes, of course the Gift is account bound. The idea is to mail the relevant mats to the gift owner, let them make the legendary, and send it to me. Also: trust isn’t an issue. We’ve done stuff like this before.

To explain further: Scroll all the way down, look at the total amount of gold it would cost to craft the legendary and then subtract that from the price the legendary is sold for on the Trading Post minus 15%. That’s how I would do it. So for example, if you’d craft Sunrise:

Sell Price: 2888g

Crafting Price: 2042g

2888*0,85=2455
2455-2042=413

So 413g seems like a fair price to me.

I’m against the sale of legendaries in the first place, so the Gift of Mastery would not be for sale by me either. The fact that you must have done the exploration of the entire map at least once should always be a requirement before you can get a legendary.

I would agree with you if this was any other MMO than GW2. But in GW2, legendaries are really just glorified weapon skins. They’re not as special as legendaries are in other MMORPGs. So who cares legendaries can be bought? I don’t.
