Selling Twilight and buying Eternity?

Hi everyone,

I just resumed guild wars 2 few weeks ago after 1 year of break and many things have changed, especially the new wardrobe system. I have tried reading up forums for answers but it is confusing for me, so I have decided to post my question here, hoping for any kind souls to enlighten me on this issue.

I have a soulbound sunrise right now and in the process of completing a twilight legendary. If I want to have all 3 skins (sunrise, twilight and eternity), is it better to sell my twilight and buy an eternity and soulbound it ? And if I want the eternity to have the stat and sigils of my current sunrise, I will just transmute the eternity skin on my sunrise?

Does what I state above makes any sense? Is it possible? I came up with it with the knowledge I got from reading forums. I would like confirm if I am correct in my points.

Thank you!

Side note: If what I said is correct, why do people still make eternity and sell? Isn’t selling sunrise or twilight more worth it? They can buy eternity off the market with the money they get.

Doing it that way you would be paying 1000g extra for all 3 skins

Selling twilight to buy eternity will make you lose gold, in your case it’s easier to just craft eternity yourself. If you add the tp fees to sell the twilight (i think it is 15% fee) you will end up needing to spend much more gold than just keeping the twilight and making eternity.

I dont see the advantage in selling twilight, you would end up with both sunrise and eternity for yourself but imo its easier to just make an ascended gs, having the original legendary weapon is not so useful.

I never tried to transmute a legendary, but i heard that you can do it, and the legendary will still keep the ability to change stats no matter what skin you transmute on it.

It would work, but like Eldrin said you’d lose a lot of gold and the only benefit is you’d get to keep Sunrise.

When you equip Eternity it unlocks the skins for Twilight, Sunrise, Dusk and Dawn (if you haven’t got them already). So it would work. But Eternity costs a lot more than Twilight.

Also I don’t understand why you’d want to transmute the Eternity Skin over Sunrise. Legendaries have selectable stats so you can just pick the ones your Sunrise has. The only benefit would be not having to buy the sigils again, but unless they’re very expensive I can’t see it’d be worth it.

If you got a sunrise and a twilight, then it is always cheaper to make eternity then to sell one of them and then buy eternity. Eternity is 1000 gold more expensive then twilight. So in your case you save bout 985 gold by making eternity and putting new sigils on it.

Why do people still sell eternity?
Cause of your situation..
If you bind sunrise or twilight it looses the economic value cause you can’t sell it anylonger. unless you craft eternity. Then it regains most of its value again.

Thank you everyone for the input.

I have decided to just craft eternity and keep it, since i’m not making a deal from selling twilight and buying eternity after that. At first I wanted to tranmute eternity skin to sunrise because of the sigils, but bah, not worth it.

Sigils are not more then 7-8 gold each (unless you got something crazy like karka slaying). So indeed not worth it by far.

If he sells and buys eternity, he will end up with 2 legendary greatswords instead of 1.
If you regularly want to run 2 different gs builds with different sigils, it might be worth having a 2nd gs handy, which can also switch stats ooc.
