Sending expensive items through mail?

Q:

Hi,

I know people can get banned for sending huge amounts of gold by mail. What I’m wondering is if I can get banned by sending expensive items by mail, more specifically a precursor weapon.

Me and my friends are planning to send someone a precursor weapon as a birthday gift. Do we risk getting banned by doing that?

Thanks

A:

Not really, there have been giveaways of items as good as Legendaries for guild/server events so mailing a precursor means really nothing as basis for banning.

If you ever get banned for sending huge amounts of gold out, Anet will still re-consider the case if it is in fact a legit mail and not gold selling.

They can track gold easily because it goes straight into your inventory and they can see sudden jumps and tell if you got if from another person or the TP. I’ve never heard of them tracking items and I know people do raffles and giveaways of precursors without problems.
