For the people not watching the Twitch TV stream atm ( 31/08/2013) ArenaNet is showing off some stuff for september the 17 including a very nice World boss fight and as the title of this thread the LFG system. It is very easy to use and looks really cool ^^

Looks pretty interesting. A more detailed gw2lfg without the need to manually update. I can definitely live with this.

Well some of us like to play games not for socializing. Dont see the big deal when you type LFG in map chat during zerg farming and get on with the business of farming instead of chatting with your new farm buddies.

There aren’t any single player games with this kind of scale and continuity. Just because there are other players doesn’t mean everyone should socialize all the time. You can also work towards a common goal in silence. Yes, talking a little and fooling around is fun for most, but not for everyone. Just remember there is more to MMO’s than just other players.

I like the specialization of the groupings you can make. They had listings for all sorts of objectives in the event. And some oddball sounding ones.

That Destiny’s Edge entry made me chuckle surprisingly.

To be honest it’s better if a game can do without it, but with lower populations on the servers than a year ago and content fragmented all over the place, the game needs it more now than before.

As far as China is concerned, if it bombs then it will be over soon, but if it does well then it will be the most important market for them. You already spent your cash, they are the new spenders and there’s a lot more of em there.

Just ignore that tool. That’s all he does all day is talk crap about the game. Yet he sticks around just to talk kitten and complain. Just ignore his posts and move on. Vayne and Nuka Cola are both people I refuse to respond to because that’s all they do is complain while offering no alternative solutions or constructive feedback.

It’s a LFG tool for more than dungeons.

You can open different tabs that are looking for groups for everything.

Honestly I don’t see the need for a LFG tool. I have no problem getting groups with my guild and from what I have seen pugs are pretty abundant as well because it’s easy enough to find a group of 5 like minded individuals looking to run the same dungeon.

He won’t ever answer you just like he didn’t answer me when I asked. His only real purpose is trolling and polluting the forums. The only thing one can do is stop replying him, but I’m afraid we (myself included) are too slow to pick up.

Also please don’t compare him to Vayne because that guy actually makes some sense in his posts.

Just because you don’t doesn’t mean that others do or don’t. I’ve seen on several occasions people looking to map complete, run event chains, do temples, etc.

Map completion is a great idea and didn’t think of that. i don’t really see this happening with event chains (who does that these days?) and the only reason to do temples is for obi shards which i guess is very true, that’s about it.

I would expect at least server-wide, but the example shown in the screenshot only lists Sparkfly events? And if it does not reach all of NA or EU, then Gw2LFG will still be relevant for finding dungeons (unfortunately…).

No. HOTW was never popular. Try finding people for story mode dungeons. And Guildies are rarely on the same time schedule.

When COF P1 was popular, sometimes it took me at least 20 min to get a party because there is no queue system. Maybe the LFG tool doesnt require a queue system now that there is no content popular enough that would cause party form requests to be pushed into the next page within a minute.

P.S. And abt the NA/EU thing. Lets just say everyone’s time will be saved by not having people choose the wrong region or dungeon.

Oh, I do group them together, they are peas in the same pod. It’s a fairly common, transparent tactic on internet forums “White Knight vs. Black Hat”. They bump their posts and threads back and forth, keeping arguments and negativity on the front page. Our “white knight” will bump a controversial or trolling thread from 3 pages back under the guise of “defending”.

best things imho:

• you can merge groups easily. If you’re in a 3 man group, 2 man groups or smaller will be listed first
• your friends and guildies will be above all other players in the register
• in the screenshots it looks like you can make groups for all kind of content (like a group for the finger-killing group – east battery at the new revamped Tequatl encounter http://i.imgur.com/UyJAXw0.jpg )

It doesn’t take a year to develop something like this. I don’t care if they would have had a standard one and updated it later…but it should have been there much earlier if not by release. Instead they were busy adding pretty things to their gem store.

We got tons of quality of life updates, among those the removal of culling in WvW and now also in PvE. We got the wallet, we got an achievement overhaul including new rewards for this. We got, we got, we got. Having this lfg-tool on the priority list behind these updates only makes sense. There is no seperate team which only worked on the lfg-tool for a whole year.
