There are some serious core issues that I thought would have been fixed a long time ago. I took a break from the game, not because I was bored or tired of these issues, but because I simply couldn’t find time to keep up in the game due to RL.

Here are a few core issues that I thought would have been fixed, they are fairly important and require Anet’s attention.

1. Bank space is limited for the obvious reason that you want people to buy gems and pay for the extra space, however one of the big selling points for this game is the fact that gear for the most part is cosmetic ( Horizontal progression ). This isn’t entirely true but for the most part it does hold serious weight in this game when compared to other games. The vertical progression is far and few between.

To the point ; People need space for all the sets of cosmetic gear that they plan on collecting in this game. As it currently stands, its hard to find space for 1 characters sets of gear let alone 2 characters. A simple solution would be implementing a system akin to the Structured PvP Locker. You simply implement one for PvE ( minus the part where the sets lose their runes / upgrade components ). This way vanity items can be kept in the bank and gear kept in the locker.

2. Transmutation stones are too hard to get when you again look at a strong selling point for this game ; Cosmetic Gear. Yet another obvious reason for this is the fact that you have them for sale on the gem store. I know you are pushing out a lot of content in a short period of time for this game, that content requires funding, however I think you could probably afford the loss of transmutation stone purchases based on the fact that there is literally new items in the gem store every 2 weeks, and they are quite enticing at times.

I obviously don’t know sales numbers, but the current system for transmutating your gear is just not effective IMO.

Honestly, if ArenaNet were that focused on restricting inventory space to force people to upgarde, they wouldn’t have given us the Collections vault, or expanded it later to include everything it has today, or introduced the Wallet to free inventory space even more (just out of Badges of Honor, it has given me 10 slots). Not to mention that you can get 100 inventory spaces just with gold, without buying anything with Gems (by using 5 bags with 20 slots each).

Some people are never going to be happy with the inventory they are given. I remember reading someone claiming that the fact ArenaNet had introduced multiple armor sets in the game was PROOF that they expected each character to buy all available armor sets, and so he DEMANDED that ArenaNet would increase inventory space AT LEAST to accomodate as much (but he said it with more caps, more OMGs and more !!111!!!s, too).

And about the transmutation issue, wait 10 days. You’ll see.

treadmill, of being in that obvious pattern of every time I catch up you are going to

IMO There were other motives for the wallet, and they were good ones. Having currency across all characters is something I enjoy personally. If they had never bothered with a Collections vault, crafting wouldn’t exist. People wouldn’t bother since you literally would have no space for the materials to craft.

I don’t know what happens in 10 days other than the birthday thing ( I think? ). If the present happens to be lots of stones, that doesn’t really fix the issue. They aren’t permanent.

It only costs 10g to get 50 bank spaces. Press G create a guild (or many) and buy influence.

You can’t place Soulbound or Account Bound items into a Guild Bank. Though I agree that it’s not nearly as bad as the OP makes it sound.

I absolutely agree on the issue of needing some sort of cosmetic storage system, even if it was for cosmetic only skins of items we acquire. It already exists in PvP, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be in PvE as well.

I’m not sure I really agree with the Trans stone thing though. Fine stones aren’t too expensive as it is as long as you’re not using them too often. As far as Normal stones go, however, I’ve used a bunch and still have over 100 sitting in my bank purely from receiving them for doing area completions, personal story quests, etc.
