Regarding /g, are you sure that particular character is currently /representing/ a guild? You can be in multiple guilds at once, so you have to make sure you’re representing a guild, or else /g won’t know which guild to chat with.

(Sorry if you knew that, but it’s easy to forget if you make a new character who isn’t representing yet.)

There have been many complaints about the WvW map completion requirement. Be assured the devs know there is disgruntlement there.

As to guilds, you have to be actively representing a guild to gchat in it. If you have five guilds, you can still be actively in none of them. Just click on the desired guild in your list at the upper left of your guild panel, then click Represent at the bottom (be very careful not to accidentally click Leave Guild, hopefully they will move that button one day). Any further /g chats will have you talking to others who are also actively representing.

Constructive feedback and without hostility. Your opening post leaves a lot to be desired.
