Guild Wars 2

So I been hearing a rumor going around about certain servers merging with other servers. I’m a bit curious as to whether or not its true or not because I would like to prepare my guild as soon as possible. Given that I’m on a server that will most likely be one of those that gets shut down. If anyone else has info or confirmation or what not, I’d appreciate any info.

Did they give a reason for these server mergers? Because with Megaservers there isn’t any reason to do it for PvE or PvP. The only reason I can think of is WvW. Because of the way that set up, 3 against each other, that would mean they would have to merge 3 together to keep them equal for the WvW matches. So imo it would depend if there are any WvW maps that are so bad they need to be merged

The following is likely why rumors started spreading are just that rumors. Tell those people who start the rumors to stop spreading them. They are false. I am sure they will tell us well ahead of time if they plan on doing server merges.

Tip for the forum readers: Don’t take everything a dev states as something that will happen. In the case above the developer is trying to get ideas on other possible ideas to solve the coverage/population gap issues in WvW.

It would not be just 3 merged together, but 3 sets of 3 servers (9 in total) to keep a balance in WvW. I don’t think there are any server mergers on the near horizon.
