Server Wait List?

So I bought the game yesterday but the server, Yak’s Bend, my guild plays on is full. I tried refreshing the server select screen all last night to no luck. Because of WvW, I’d really like my home server to be Yak’s Bend. So my question, is there any way to get on a wait list? That way I won’t have to refresh until the cows come home. Any thoughts?

I don’t know for Yak’s bend but several Full server will stay Full for month or even Years as this change comes 1.5 years of overstacking a few server to late.

In such a situation a queue doesn’t make much sense most people that queued in will have stopped playing before they could join.

Refreshing probably doesn’t make any sense, if the status changes it likely changes at reset (friday 20:00-20:15).

How do you have a guild without having ever played the game? Something is fishy here.

Multi-game guilds do this kind of thing. Not really all that unusual.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Rather then join a stacked server…. join low tier server, and raise it from the pit of filth it wallows in, into world ranked WvW force, and watch the unwashed masses claw over each other to try to stack your server.

Or be MLG pro and pay fight guilds to join that server.

But honestly, their WvW ranking and match making system needs some work. I think the top 3 tiers are tired to of seeing the same match ups for months on end.

Actually the status does constantly change. The only way for a server to not be full tho is for someone to transfer off or Anet raises the cap

Maybe they should use a wildcard option, something like the the third slot in each tier being randomized between the actual third and the next two lower servers. Wouldn’t have to be a huge chance, just high enough that occassionally you’d get a wildcard thrown in after a reset. It might shake things up a bit.

Thought I read a dev post that shortly they will adjust how they calculate server populations to open up more servers.

They already adjusted. The end-result is that a server as stacked as Yaks Bend is gets a full status. And from our understanding, it probably remains so for a long time. Constant checking won’t help at all. A waitlist is for most part unnecessary with current system.
