Hey guys,

My kiddo has been playing a toon on my account for a while now. He finally got to the point where he wants to play with me. Before I spend the money on another copy of the game, I’m wanting to make sure he can create an account on the same server as I’m on, which is Tarnished Coast. Anyone know the server population status? Is it possible?

Thanks all!

Go to your character select, bottom left corner theres a button that says servers, wala.

“Might makes Right” – the ability to commit an act is sufficient justification to do it.

Your son can play PvE and PvP with you as long as he is on a server in the same region, NA/EU. Due to mega servers, WvW is the only thing affected by what server you are on. Server population is now calculated based on WvW population. TC is currently showing full and I think it has been for a long time and probably will stay that way for some time.

If TC is listed as Full, then it’s Full. As Trogdor said above, you can both still play together in spvp and pve as much as you want no matter what server you’re on. But if you want to do wvw together, then you’ll have to either transfer your account to a different (not Full) server or wait for TC to become not Full (which won’t happen anytime soon).

You can adventure in PVE together regardless of server.

Servers only exist in WvW, and they are already in the process of merging those.

Yes.

No, they aren’t in the process of merging them. They are testing the idea of linking two (perhaps 3) servers together for individual match ups, but so far, such linkages are temporary only and, as yet, there’s no word on how often those linkages will change.

We shall see, won’t we. I’ll stick with my viewpoint. It is just a matter of time.

I doubt they’ll merge them. Merging is permanent and brings back the original problem of WvW players moving to the most active servers leaving low pop servers to die. With temporary linked servers they will have the flexibility to mix and match high and low population servers that they won’t have if they merge them.
