Server transfer
I believe once you have chosen your home server the only way to transfer is to pay Gems.
Can transfer free by delete all character. Put every thing want to keep in bank first.

The transfer fee is waived for accounts without any active characters. This allows players just starting out to change to another world that is not full. You also can transfer without cost if you delete all your existing characters. The next time you log on without any characters, you will be prompted to choose a new home world.

Quqi is right, if you have anything of value that is not soul bound you can put it into your bank.

I think that’s why they chose this system. It means new players (who have to make their initial choice based on almost no information) can transfer for free with minimal impact but the longer you’ve been playing the worse that option becomes so established players can’t keep server hopping for free.

Not like server is going to matter for much longer…
Server doesn’t matter for PvE unless you want to switch from/to EU/NA. For WvW, I heard a change is upcoming in how the game handles which one you play on, I’d wait to switch until after the change if it’s for WvW reasons.
