Hello!

I’m a new player in GW2 and have a question to people with experience. Which servers are good to play and WWW are won? I don’t care about normal pvp and pve, i heared is the same to all servers.

Black Gate is of the top tier, I personally don’t suggest WvW at low levels but BG is where most of the WvW is at.

Fair warning the top tier servers are blob fests because of the high population

Yeah, the top right of that site has a drop-down menu where you can select EU matchups.

My personal opinion if you are new so take it for what it is worth.

I would NOT go to a higher tier server for WvW. Your individual skills and abilities will play a minor role in determining the outcome of any given battle as those servers focus on large blobs roaming the map to take on other blobs. Further to that you will have much longer wait times in queues so as to get on to the maps.

When this occurs on the server I am on I find it distinctly less satisfying then fighting in smaller groups or roaming.

Now obviously others think differently and prefer servers with those large populations. I can also have some fun in a blob on blob fight and they can lead to some epic battles but in the greater scheme of things they not my preference.

As others have said, select the EU/Europe option on the website, and choose wisely. There is a reason the servers in T1 are in T1, very competitive and “elitest” if you may. I suggest going for the 5-10 range if you plan on playing during peak hours.

Ofc you can mate My native language is polish And what is that servers tier? It mean the tier 1 is elite server, the most “professional”? And tier 9 is the lowest for casual players etc, right?

Tier 1 servers (rank 1-3) are just the most populated – there are organised guilds but it’s not professional by any means. They also contain the largest numbers of new players.

For EU go to Seafarer’s Rest. We are nr 1 EU. Perfect for roaming and raiding.

Ah there used to be a great Polish guild on our server Gunnars Hold called INC. I am not sure if they moved or disbanded but they could kick kitten .
We still have a Polish guild on our server and from Twitch TV there is I think a large Polish guild on Seafarer’s Rest. I cant remember his name he is not live right now. He usually playes necro. He always answers questions.

The queues are HORRENDOUS!
EBG 200+, bl 100+ each friday after reset is standard on SFR. during primetime queues are above 30 on average and generally you wait 1 minute for each person in queue, if you happen to d/c (which does happen especially during huge fights) you wait for 30-40 minutes AGAIN.

Dc’s only happen on crappy computers + chaos @ reset is normal.

Doubt so… enjoy WvW in europe enough and you’ll find it’sa recurring problem always caused server side.

It’s weird cause I never had an DC in WvW and I dont have a super computer.
When its prime Time @ reset – we vs kodash and deso @ sm keep, yes my fps drops a bit, but never dcing.

I do have skills lag once in a while.

If a skill hangs more then 3-5 sec you will auto dc. Trust me. Had it happen on PvE as well. you’ll notice everybody is standing still or keeps running in a sstreeaight line, it’s the second your computer no longer is connected to the server. sometimes (20-25% of the time my connection reconnects but it’s rare.

General things which seem to acompany this is a very laggy BLTP and a lagging chat panel… which I can safely say seem to be on the server end…

True instant DC’s are mostly my ISP wanting to repair /change or whatever without notfying ppl, mostly due to cars driving into connection boxes and other RL OOPS-es

I sometimes DC on Z vs Z vs Z| fights between the map blobs of the three faction in BL’s, doesn’t seem to happen as often in EBG though.

I do notice when theres a blob vs blob vs blob in crouded areas like sm, skill lag will arrive some time. And is recognizable what you saying. I’m always thinking that Im going to DC but I never dc. I do recognize the part that people running straight forward, but then my screen popped in again, it does look like if someone skipped a couple of seconds forward when my screen popped back up. I see things going forward fast and then everything is cool again. I guess I have luck with not having Dc’s cause I’m playing in WvW for a while now.

I have next question about servers. Anyone can tell me which server will be better? Seafarer’s Rest or Far Shiverpeaks? Looking at queue to battle, WvW, people, economy etc etc?

Personally, I would recommend joining Tarnished Coast (TC) in the North American region. We are usually short-staffed in the EU/AUS region and could use some more of you folks to help us in the fight against crushing Blackgate (BG) and Jade Quarry (JQ).

Plus, our server has cookies!

Of course, if you look at that link, look at the server history. There you will find Jade Quarry is still the #1 gold medal winning server in NA. Devs are biased

T1 isn’t competitive. It’s artificial and fixed. Everything is done with keeping the same current 3 servers in the match-up. T1 and skill being used in the same sentence is also extremely laughable. T1 is far and away the epitome of zergball tactics and not skilled gameplay.

seafarer is the better server there, but with that top spot come the ques. I watched stream last night and there was a 100 man que for Eternal battleground :/
FSp is a great fighting server, but I’m sure even they have ques.
