I know there are a couple pieces for heavy and one or two for light… medium has none…

Are we ever going to see armor that shows of the male body like with the females?

Plus, way to many overcoats and chest armor with skirts for the medium armor. Some of them are nice (my ranger uses the Assassin gear) but really needs to be a some chest armor that doesn’t have an overcoat or shirt w/skirt feel to it.

I just need a codpiece.

Sylvari T2 pants are closest thing. :<
Only human females are allowed sexy armor. Heavy has Seraph-Issued (karma) armor though (which should be medium armor imo) and light gets the “Strong Chestpiece” and Truyere (karma) pants. That’s pretty much it. :o

Seriously on topic,

Medium Armor is horrible. Light Armor has quite a lack and the one that shows exposed chest just looks awkward. Heavy has a few but can never hurt to add more.

I for one don’t particularly want “half naked males running around”, but then again I’m guessing plenty of people don’t want “half naked females running around” either, and they have to put up with my female characters, so, seems fair.

Putting in fair armor design for both genders would be asking videogame designers to be something other than atrociously sexist. Now isn’t that a bit naive of you?

I like both revealing and non revealing armor. I think it all looks good. Haven’t seen armor I don’t like besides SE. Maybe they’ll add some more though if people want it?

Personally, I’d like “skimpy” pieces for my Charr. After all, I spent several hours on character creation to choose the fur color/stripes/spots only to be covered entirely by the armor. I found one top that shows off the chest and back, now to find something to show off the legs……..

Charr’s just need to go shirtless with sunglasses. That’s so baller.

Also, consider that Charr females wear what Charr males wear. Why should human/sylvari/norn females get all the revealing stuff? Some attention is necessary for Asura and Charr (male and female).

good, then don’t put your character in sexy armor. I, on the other hand, would love to see half naked males running around, it would balance out all the females that run around half naked.

we are asking this since the very beginning… but i see only trenchcoats and “sexy” norns…
i need to say that the desingers get the concept of medium armor all wrong according to me, the actual medium armor are all clothes, the light armor are ridiculous clothes, while every other real armor in the game is considered heavy, even the pit fighter one…

where is the logic in that??

anyway check the ascalon catacomb pants (they are proper trousers, could you believe it?), the are wonderful on my mesmer!

How bout sexy medium armor for females?

I don’t want to be sexy or naked, I just want to wear pants.

Seems like 75% of the armors – even the heavy armors forchrissakes! – have a robe that looks like a skirt or a long coat-tail that looks like a skirt or just a straight up skirt.

My armor choices for my male characters are based not so much on stats but on whether or not you can tell I have two legs in them.

The Ascalonian light dungeon armor has pants with high boots – that’s what my Norn Mesmer wears.

I also don’t mind the skin for the lowest-level crafted light armor – you might try transmuting that onto something higher-level.

Anybody who is incapable of recognizing that their preferences are not objective reality has issues. Just because you find women more attractive does not mean women are objectively more attractive, and vice versa. Objectively, neither sex is more attractive than the other. Attraction is purely subjective.

Seriously. Some people are just….. dumb.

There’s a lot of half naked people of both genders running around FFXIV. Most of which seem to be Mithra. I refuse to use the new names. :P

Several postings that were against the rules of the forum have been removed. Please keep these rules in mind when posting.

Charr need more “skimpy” armour to just bypass all the clipping issues. Showing off the fur patterns and such is just a bonus to spending most your shopping around for looks being devoted to finding out which armours don’t have massive clipping issues, and how much clipping you can get away with.

I actively avoid skimpy outfits on my female characters, and yet I’m limited by my choices as a result.

Personally I say it’s high time we stick males in a male stripper outfit, fair is fair.

Do you really think in prehistoric days men averted their eyes or weirded each other out with their nudity? No, they thought nothing of it. This phenomenon is the result of conditioning brought about by the rampantly unhealthy homophobia in our culture.

‘Sexy’ is subjective, keep in mind. One does not necessarily need to show massive amounts of skin to be ‘sexy.’

Although, I do agree that we could use a few more style options. Some of the ranger armor for males in GW1 was quite nice, and wasn’t skimpy.

+1 i was gunna post this myself but i came across this thread. Anet can really just take some armors or ideas from gw1 that were slim without the little skirt or coat and add it to gw2. Like vabbian or prophecies medium armor(since medium armor for males has almost no variety from coats). I woudl also like some revealing armor for males medium armor too, more options plz!

This has been requested since release once players realized the insane pure coat fetish the devs had and Anet still doesn’t care and keeps releasing the same old medium crap. Can they just take the Heavy Seraph chest piece and slap a medium armor tag on it and put that single piece into gem store and get it over with? That piece has nothing to do with the word “heavy” and is 100% incapable of clipping with any mix. ;/ I’m wearing the Dragon Bash costume forever just cuz it’s the only tight fitted skirtless option available to me out of all medium armor.

Sad thing is the Arah pants I have on my Thief are insanely awesome looking, but there are no chest pieces that actually make the entire pants visible. What a waste of awesome pants. .-.

I had the same problem with my Norn ranger. I gave her all those neat tattoos and then 99% of her armor is trenchcoats with long sleeves.

I am perfectly fine with skimpy male armor also. I don’t think a game dev will care the equality of male and female armor, but i am fine as long as we have CHOICES. Who cares there are Sparta armor, i don’t think every male i met will be in sparta armor. And it doesn’t matter also as i have choice to outfit my character skimpy or not.
