Share some happy experiences from Gw2!
I once hit a rat for300k.
I once got a decent drop.
I once hit a rat for300k.
And a Rabbit. Felt a little guilty about it.
I once got a decent drop.
I once got three blues and a green.
Others: Tybalt storyline. Finding all those familiar places from GW1.
3 post clocked at 10hours on happy moments on gw2.. doesn’t look good at all.
It’s easier to complain than to give praise. Things I learned when I was working at a local support center some years ago.
But given the quality of responses above, yeah, things look pretty grim. lol
There’s a difference between a support line and a Forum though…
Not really. Feedbacks feedbacks – it’s human nature.
I have an experience as a forum mod too, on a local MMO and it’s the same.
Do several nice things = not much thread. A few grateful souls, yay!
Do one mistake = holy kitten look at page 1. Oh it also extends on page 2. look at all the threads I have to merge. look at all the people I wanna ban for spamming.
seeing gold sellers disappear.

First precusor drop.
Several memorable dungeon runs with my guild.
Taking on a zerg five times bigger than us in WvW by actually having a plan.
Soloing three guys on my necro in WvW.
Finishing the Clocktower jumping puzzle for the first time.
Discovering Anton’s ghost.
Sanctum Sprint, often
Being partied with guild members when they got percusor drops (on different ocassions)
1v1ing a younger hotshot in my guild who thought I was too old to take him down
Actually a lot of good memories aren’t just of events themselves but events with my guild.
My worst memory, for sure, is they say I first logged into this forum. lol
When I first logged in the forum it was great, though, lot of people with optimism for the game and generally positive response towards .. well, everything. It’s kinda changed over the time game’s been out.

Sure it’s changed. Because the people who like the game walked away.
I used to moderate another Guild Wars 2 fan forum, and it got sort of negative. Many of the people in my guild came from that forum and most still play and enjoy the game. I was the only person out of 40 or so people who didn’t leave that forum because of negativity.
If you like a game, why waste your time trying to defend it, instead of just playing it? That’s the issue.
I know people who used to come here and don’t anymore, because of the negative attitude.
If you put a teaspoon of wine into a barrel of sewerage…you get sewerage. If you put a teaspoon of sewerage into a barrel of wine…you get sewerage.
It’s much easier to destroy than it is to create. This forum has become painful to people who enjoy the game…and there are many of us.
I persist for personal reasons…and even I don’t post nearly as much as I used to.
Logging in April 1st for a weird new addition called Super Adventure Box.
I can’t easily recall any other time I’ve felt so much abject glee elicited from a video game.
Defending my home keep in Eternal borderlands through the night…
Started at 12am, finally went to bed 5am’ish.
Just 20-30 of us vs 100-150 enemy zerg.
It was like The Legend by David Gemmel. A dozen attacks where repulsed, the keep had more holes than walls and all the stairways were destroyed several times. It looked bleak at the end with all our siege destroyed and the enemy able to walk through our keep in several spots but by then the 11th or 12th time they had attacked and been defeated there morale was shot to bits and somehow we won…
It was still T3 keep and had not been taken, when I woke up in the afternoon too.
:s my post was deleted…. And I actually edited it so I complied with what the thread wanted…
Got my first WC with my first chara in a fun fashion.
Died 3 times naked running to the SP on top of the cottage near the top left in an enemy zone. 4th attempt, I jumped up there to find an enemy sitting on the roof.
He came down to get me… and promptly fell off
I remember when they released another tier of stuff, it was like Christmas! I was afraid I wouldn’t have anymore grinding or farming to do. Also I shed a few tears when a gold got you only 11 gems, as it allowed me to farm even more gold for gem shop stuff and gave me plenty to do. There’s just too many good things to fit in one post.
Don’t support the Gem Shop, it’s that easy.
My old running animation and a plush griffon that swum. Good times.
Yesterday I went afk in WvW. When I came back, an elementalist from an enemy server was attacking me. Baffled, I realized he was doing very little damage—yet he was not an uplevel. So I sat there and watched him for a few seconds without moving. When he came up a little closer, I lunged at him, scared the crap out of him, and killed him. Got a good laugh out of it.
When the Rox horns came out for female charr I was super excited because I had wanted more forward-pointing horns for my warrior. Buying her that new set of horns felt epic.
I got promoted in my guild a few days ago. Yay!
When I saw the preview for the tentacle backpack they released at Southsun. My necromancer is based off a cartoon character—Nergal Junior—who has tentacles growing out of his back. Getting that tentacle backpack for my character was probably my best moment—I never thought I’d get him to look that accurate.
When I killed Gaheron Baelfire!
When I got stuck in a little cage due to an event glitch, with two other players. We stripped our characters naked and had a dance party.
When I got pushed off the edge of the Skyhammer map and fell aaaaaalll the way down, but didn’t die.
When they released the new faces and hairstyles.
Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween! Mad King Thorn and Prince Thorn were the best
When the game first launched and I was SO EXCITED because I had waited so long.
Scarlet! I don’t care what anyone says, Scarlet is great!
When Flame and Frost released and I realized we were getting more Flame Legion lore. They’re my favorite villians, and my favorite enemies to kill!
Finding all the old landmarks from Guild Wars 1!

I don’t like to say this, but not much ‘memorable’ so far. Maybe last year when I finally got to the end of the wintersday JP.
I’ll let you know about something memorable when I get the last piece of my legendary together… and I bet most people here could guess which piece that is.
“Obtaining a legendary should be done through legendary feats…
Not luck and credit cards.”
There have been a few things that made me laugh. Some big, some now. A smaller one that comes to mind was the first time I heard the Norn “confusion” commentary. “How many ales have I had?”
And while it is monotonously old now, thanks to the Jagged Horror, “No! I hand raised that minion!” was pretty kitten funny the first time around too.
Waiting 3 hours for a succesful Tequatl event and getting an ascended is an awesome feeling.
Several WvW “300 like” encounters with some servers. Discovering the world, most notably the GW1 places and characters and those who are connected to them. It’s still nice to do this kind of stuff.
One of the best was way back in the beginning. A bunch of us (fresh level 30’s) got together and did AC Story mode with no idea where to go and what to do. We didn’t look at a guide, and we didn’t know many who had been inside before.
It took us almost 4 hours to finish, most of the time spent trying to kill Vassar and Ralena (they have since changed the encounter somewhat.)
When we finally finished, we were happy to get the reward, but we were more happy that we somehow survived.
The newness has worn off, and we can do the paths fairly quickly now, but that first epic trip into a level 30 dungeon was priceless.
While mining iron ore in Gendarran Fields my level 50 elementalist was surprised attacked by Scarlet, she came right out of no where and scared the heck out of me, I jumped back to put up my shield and heal, she then disappeared. A commander then showed up on the map as others and this was the first time I participated in a Scarlet Minion Invasion, it was awesome.
I was doing a champ train one night.
When I get bored sometimes I’ll just do it for a while.
As I started opening my pouches and bags, I lamented to myself about the low amount of Ecto I have in storage.
Lo and behold, Truth drops from one of the pouches.
Insane laughter commenced.
Duoing grenth before he got buffed, and being a part of the first Arah opening. Probably the few times where I felt like I had to try.
I had an exotic drop one time. That was nice. Think it was Edge of Honor or something like that, I don’t remember.
Every night in WvW is a fun and unique experience.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Finally buying my Kuunavang mini. Completing The Deep for the first time. Acquiring a full set of Vabbian armor for my necro. Seeing Abaddon dance and Gwen as an adult.
Wait. What was the question again?
Doing guild missions for the first time, meeting up at Fort Marriner and a guildie bowing down before my epic firey Norn to propose on sight. Telling him “I’m more into the destruction than creation end of things”. Realizing that casual roleplay would be well and alive in the game.
Making my first (and only, so far) legendary :3 And map completion.
My first time inside the treasure room in Angvar’s Trove, first Tequatl take down, first successful Arah.
Finally getting to some of the harder to reach crystals in the Labyrinthine Cliffs, getting to the diving goggles there and just generally that whole zone. I loved it there.
Every time I get to level a character 1-30ish because Personal Story.
I love getting to tell someone how cool their character name is in-game. I love seeing groups that have a gimmick — dancing asura, the Sailor Moon guild, etc — and are nice to people about it.
But my most standout happy memory is probably going into The Grove for the first time. My first character was a Sylvari, and I just… ran in circles for probably an hour doing map completion. I think this was a more childlike moment of awe than the legendary because I didn’t have to grind for it… I just had to look and explore. It was so beautiful. I still get overwhelmed by the pretty in the lower levels there.
ETA: Anytime someone in guildchat says “THIS WON’T END WELL.” Thanks, Trahearne. Also, hearing the Galaxy Quest joke in Lion’s Arch so often (“By Ogden’s hammer, what savings!”)
