Ok, I don’t remember ever seeing shark fins before and now I have 4 of them. Does anyone know what they’re good for?

You know that information, yes, but you can’t link the item from the game into your comment so, as I said, I am supplying information to help. Others who may be able to answer your question may need to know what item it is you are asking about. Now that they know exactly what item you are asking about without having to search the net/wiki to get more information on it, perhaps your question is more likely to get an answer, possibly a quicker one even.

You need the “Chineses Heritage” mastery from the Great Wall master line to get it .

I assume it’s part of the spear precursor collection.

Tier one requires shark teeth, and so far I’ve never seen collection items drop unless you could actively collect them.

I’m pretty sure I got mine from a shark in Kessex Hills. Kinda odd that there is a wiki entry, but it doesn’t really say anything. Okay, it’s an “ingredient”, but what is it for, or part of? I’m running across a lot of wiki entries like that for the new content. They just seem to be placeholders, echoing the tooltip info.

The Precursor crafter in LA sells a recipe for Sharkfin Soup, which is used for the Moot collection. That’s most likely what the shark fin is for.

Until players discover what all the new items are used for, the best the Wiki editors can do is create the pages for said items.

With time, more information will be added. =)

I’m currently going for the Spear Legendary to see if it needs them at any point (Got the first tier finished today). I must say they have a rather high droprate, about 1 in 4 low-level sharks drops them. Droprate seems to lower once you try the sharks in regions like Sparkfly Fen. The lake in Kessex Hill seems the best spot for farming them due to the high amount of sharks there.

Doing the mace right now, and I don’t know if it is for the second or third step, but I can guarantee it isn’t for the first that one needs a Shark Tooth from an event in Timberline Falls.

Nah, they gave up on underwater. Unpopular things are easily neglected, even though it’s unpopular because it’s neglected. A viscous cycle.

The Shark says it’s an ingredient but it isn’t used in any of the current crafts so whatever it is it’s inactive atm.

So in short: is it a wasted slot in inventory or bank to keep these Shark Fins?

Of course it’s terrible that sharks are being harvested in huge numbers for their fins just so people can have “shark fin soup”.

The good news is that I’ve made a wonderful discovery that could save the sharks. Apparently porpoise fins are indistinguishable from shark fins in terms of soup quality. This discovery will save the lives of many sharks. I’ve gotten the word out to as many shark fin harvesters as possible. So the next time you chow down on a bowl of delicious shark fin soup, don’t feel so guilty! It’s probably made from dolphins instead!

Also have a fin and have not started any legendary collection. Only sharks i
remember have killed was one normal in Gendarran fields and the one for
the Hero Point in Frostgorge.

Why is that odd ? Wiki is done by players, so if the players don’t have more infos
they can’t write more.

I got 1 from a shark in Iron Marches. It was in my way of a mining node. Aside from being account bound it has no value so we can’t even sell it to a merchant for a few copper.

No Tiger Blood?

Got two killing sharks in Southsun Cove on a diving trip to underwater precursors. No use for it either just yet.

I picked up a few shark fins in Kessex, and I just tossed them. Whatever they’re for, they’re of no value to me right now, and it doesn’t look like they’re hard to collect.

I have about 15+ of them now.
They can’t go in the forge and they’re not part of a collection that I know of.

Guess I’ll try checking my chef to see if they show up there? No clue what they’re used for yet.

Can’t wait until they add bear bile as a crafting item. Maybe they’ll have farm nodes for this where lots of bears are in tiny cages for you to harvest the bile out of them.

Would like to see the Shark Fin get added to the material storage so we can right-click and deposit material.

Im sitting on 6 atm, I made Carcharias, killing all the sharks from around the different areas got them for me, I 1st thought I needed them for Carcharias but you dont.
