Honest question here. I don’t see myself getting HoT anytime soon, is it time to just quit GW2?

[In case anyone reading cares why — not happy with the price and honestly, what I’ve been reading about content hidden behind what is essentially crazy horizontal progression and massive grinding is a real turn off. The philosophy of ‘playing your way’ seems dead imo]

It seems without HoT, and the way they’ve structured the game now, leveling or doing anything post 80 is pointless for non HoT players. I have 7 80s. I mainly PvP/WvW and get the impression I’m going to be locked out of too many things (abilities, content and rewards) for me to be competitive or continue enjoying it.

Still am fond of the game, but feel like I’d rather put my money towards something else (cough… Fallout 4… cough) right now; and it seems Anet pretty much wants people to buy HoT or quit. At least that’s how it comes across with how they’ve implemented things.

Thoughts? Thanks.

Honestly, I’d say it depends on how you feel. If you think you can’t get any fun out of playing the game anymore, take a break.
Since you are PvP/WvW mainly, can’t you get at least some fun out of the new borderlands or stronghold? Those are for all players if I recall correctly (PvE main here, so I’m not completely sure)

Yes, Fallout 4 will be a better option, although it is the same lazy and cheap stuff like HOT, just different direction, then will be BnS and BDO both F2P, so depressing

Sure buy fallout 4 mate play that awhile and then come back when hot is more inline what you are willing to pay for it.

Quit.

There are very few MMOs, if at all, that are worth sticking around if you are unwilling to stay on the current level of content.

Can’t blame arenanet for designing the future of the game around HoT, it is an expansion after all.

It’s just a game, in the end. If you don’t feel like playing, you shouldn’t.
