Should all classes get Stealth?
Um…………no.
Nope.
Fun game though.
Should all classes get meteor shower?
Should all classes get virtues? Should all classes get clones? Should all classes get second health bar? Should all classes get adrenaline? Should all classes get pets? Should all classes get belt skills? Should all classes get 4 weapon bars? ummm…..what do you think?
a better question would be “should every class get access to reflect?”
Should there only be theif profession no others? no
Stealth? Hell no, in a fair game nobody should have access to stealth. it’s too complex. If you want to make things even then really the best game is one in which all players are identical greyish blobs with a single attack of predetermined strength who do battle on a featureless white plane.
All classes do get stealth. It’s the culling skill.

I get what you did there
i’m sorry, you want to give GS full zerker warriors stealth?
Well what we need is some mechanic what can counter stealth, like trait what decrease dmg coming from stealth opponent or some “ping” skill what show stealthed enemies for a while.
Right now what can imo easiest fix that ridiculous stealth situation is some sort of internal cooldown on re-stealth. 5s at least.

Should all people be allowed to post on forums?
I like to think of classes as if they were all “real-world” possible. With that said, which classes should have stealth?
Well, the thief for sure since they’re all about stealth, though I’d be happier if they called it an assassin…a mesmer as well since illusion and deception is a primary part of their makeup.
Other casters like the necro and elementalist…well, perhaps not directly. It’s conceivable the necro might be able to hide and move around in the shadows undetected and more so at night, while the elementalist might be able to blend in to their surroundings…kind of like a chameleon or even become particular elements. But I see these skills typically as more defensive/preservation skills rather than offensive skills.
Warriors? No… Why? Well, being a hack/slash kind of character, stealth is not their thing and simply is not their job. They should not be able to do it well, if at all. Heavy armor is simply not quiet. However…I do believe they should have the option of wearing light armor if they do what to sneak up on something.
Guardians? Perhaps in a limited, but powerful, defensive fashion…and they may now, but I have never played one.
That leaves rangers and engineers. Like elementalists, I think rangers should be able to hide in to their surroundings, but only in a natural setting. Engineers, I’m kind of ambivalent about and could be convinced ether way.
Personally, for any game I believe only caster classes should be able to achieve true invisibility, unless a special piece of gear grants it, and that no attack while invisible should be able to one-shot anything and all attacks should negate the invisibility. I also don’t believe an attack should be indefensible.
Invisible also does not mean quiet. An invisible warrior wearing heavy armor is going to make just as much noise and be just as detectable.
That’s my 2c.

All classes get stealth with Runes of Infiltration.
Must be a warrior who realized there was one thing left in the game he couldn’t do better then everyone else…
Many classes can stealth if they reeeeally want to, see above. That doesn’t mean they should want to, given IMO the mechanic is just a DPM reducer.
No, but all Sylvari should get a camouflage ability.
More like no class should have it. It’s a gimmicky mechanic that will never be balanced.
Thief stealth is about to get nerfed, so I don’t think this will happen.
More like no classes should get stealth in it’s current form. It simply breaks the game for me and personally I have no patience for it.
Gandara
No, but everybody (including thieves themselves) should be able to counter them.
Thief stealth is about to get nerfed, so I don’t think this will happen.
I’d rather say fixed, not nerfed.
Constant CnD spam is just abusing the lack of a code that prevents such behavior.
I’m very happy with this change because when it goes live, you will realize what’s the Thief’s greatest asset: mobility.
And this forum will be filled with complaints about it.
Must be a warrior who realized there was one thing left in the game he couldn’t do better then everyone else…
I laugh every time PvE noobs say this.
Engenier, thief, mesmer, ranger have stealth already.
Engie utility elixer s.
Mesmer torch skill.
Thief everything is stealth.
Ranger 1 of the pets can find ectoplasm for all buffs 5 sec or feathers for stealth.
Legit question. Imho, some classes are meant to have stealth while others don’t. For example, thief and mesmers have it such for mobility or deception, thus making use of stealth as means of survivability etc. Some classes, such as warriors, don’t have it, especially in pvp, because it’ll tip the balance of classes. If warrior does have such skill or access to stealth in some way, warrior would be quite OP. This regards pvp, however.
[HMNG] Blackgate
Champion Legionnaire
All classes can get stealth. Should they? As long as its balanced.
I don’t care about who has or doesn’t have stealth……just give it a counter so other classes have a defense against it, or make it so that if the person stealthed receives damage the are automatically taken out of stealth.
I mean, if someone comes and stabs you in the chest and then disappears it’s not someone being stealthy, it’s an invisibility spell.
Here’s another great idea: great-sword dual wielding for warriors…i want to see my warrior doing double hundred-blades!
Blackgate Militia
We need stealth warriors. Come on Anet, great ideas are ready to be picked up here.
Can guardians have stealth spirit weapons that can see stealthed theives please Anet?
Actually screw the stealth on the spirit weapon – let’s just have them able to hunt stealthed characters, Guard/Theif balance issue fixed without esoteric mechanics or stacking control onto the guard (eww…).
Go on kiddies – steal that one and sell it as your own.
It may just be that your original statement was wrong.
Please try again.

stealth is a lame mechanic for a class. Do people know that being stealthy doesn’t mean invisibility?
Invisibility on a class is bush league design.
In pve all class can stealth with items (a get out of jail free like item) but in pvp most cant and for good reason.
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)

Should all classes get Stealth?

How to get stealth on any character:
Buy the spy kits… ash legion or order of whispers. Both can stealth you, one lasts longer than the other though.

Except those aren’t the same, they’re camouflage so if you move it breaks AND they have been nerfed into the dirt since they now have a ridiculous cool down timer on them.
stealth should be removed from the game.
No, because then you can ask the same question about teleportation, pets, and other unique mechanics that give the professions their flavor as well as advantage over some.
Engis, mes, and theif. Do any other profs have stealth?

Definitely warriors.
Sure, all classes should have stealth! Just make sure you give my Thief hundred blades, massive boon output, aegis, time warp, might stacking, and heavy healing when you do that.

If it remove that stupid stealth every 2 sec? I am in.
Tekkit’s Workshop
Short anwser: Yes
Long anwser: Yeeeeeeeeees, but there should be a detect skill or ways to detect players besides blindly swinging weapons. There should be counters to everything. Age of Conan did stealth pretty well. Assassins got a boost to their stealth but everyone could detect stealthed chars and stealth themselves, some better than others, but the obviously stealth class was superior at it.
Stealth doesn’t last very long, 2-3 seconds in most cases. If people had an ability to ping and detect a character in stealth then stealth would be worthless.
I know this has been said often, but I really think that stealth will be much less of an issue once culling is removed.
Look at all the bites this guy got with a single sentence.
Report the thread and move on.
Should all classes get Stealth?
No. Should all classes Wear plate armor and only use greatsword ?
Should all classes get virtues? Should all classes get clones? Should all classes get second health bar? Should all classes get adrenaline? Should all classes get pets? Should all classes get belt skills? Should all classes get 4 weapon bars? ummm…..what do you think?
This is completly the wrong aproach to this.
You’re listing other profession mechanics, while Stealth isn’t a profession mechanic. Stealth is a state (like having access to Haste).
The Thief is a weird profession in that instead of 1 major mechanic have very minor 4 mechanics that try to equal other professions, but Stealth isn’t a mechanic (having Stealth Attacks is one of those 4 mini-mechanics, but not the proper Stealth).
Mesmers can be very effective giving Stealth to groups, and you can get it through combos.
I agree that not every profession need it because of how they’re balanced, but compare it with main mechanics isn’t the right way to argue it.
Thieves need perma-stealth. I insist for a ninja trait line.
why have classes at all? Just pick from a list of skills and whatnot and create your own “class”. I’d love for my thief to have access to some of the great warrior melee skills like bull rush and kick. Or better yet, that trait that gives a small AoE with your dodge. Boy, the things a thief could do with that alone are amazing.
And warriors need to be able to use daggers. Make it happen ANet, great ideas await great adventures.
I personally think all characters should be untargetable for 75% of the fight. It’s a really fun mechanic and would make pvp totally elite since it takes so much twitch skill to retarget constantly. We would have more people watching GW2 than watch Leauge within a week!
