I’m a newbie lvl 80 in this game.
Should i craft ascended armor? or earn gold and just wait for HoT?
what do you think?
i also don’t have legendary weapon
should i get one or not?

If you want to make ascended armor, I recommend you wait until after HoT. They are remaking the traits, professions and how condition damage works that we know of and possibly more changes. Make weapons instead and save mats for the armor if you still want to make it. I recommend you wait for legendary also as that’s being redone and more being added.

The only “need” for ascended armor is for lvl 50 fractals. Other than that, it’s about a 5% increase in stats. Considering exotic armor is basically free and ascended between 400 and 500 gold to craft, you might want to focus on something else first.

Legendary can swap between any stat combination whenever out of combat (not that usefull, you’ll stick with 1 stat combo most likely). The skins and effects are pretty and that’s about the only thing you’ll get out of it.

I had the most fun in the game when I was working towards my first legendary. Having a set goal makes farming less tedious and every drop worth something.

Only craft it if you want to waste a lot of gold. If you really want to have a set though, make sure you choose your preferred playstyle (berserker, etc.), and choose which class you want it for.

Yeah you may want to wait till after HoT to craft ascended armor. A lot of people are freaking out saying the trait change is going to mess up there builds and armor choices. I personally don’t feel that way. I never spent my trait points for the stats, but the traits themselves instead. Trinkets can be picked up reletivly easy from the lurual vendor so you may want to start there.

Ascended is very expensive and time consuming. As a brand new 80 it may not be worth it to you yet. Exotics are very close stat wise and can be bought on the trading post, crafted, or earned thru dungeon tokens. I have an 80 of each class and so far have made ascended gear of each class that is then shared for which ever I feel like playing. I still kept there exotic gear in case I was lazy and didn’t feel like getting it from the bank

Dont do it , honestly not worth it for the cost … unless you are playing in a "hardcore group going for records or something like that – give priority to weapons , bags , slots skins etc..

even in a very organized group the difference damage will be irrelevant for an average or new player

You also only get the benefit of ascended gear with level 80 content. Below level 80 it’s at best only exotic level because of downscaling.

Get ascended weapons, exotic armor, and ascended trinkets. You will be able to get the 70ar for level 50 fractals.

Ascended armor just isn’t worth it.

Reasons to craft ascended armor:
1 – You run high level fractals
2 – You are a min/max player that can’t stand the possibility of not having the best gear even knowing it barely gives any advantage.
3 – You already have all the ascended weapons you’ll need
4 – You have gold to spend and nothing else to buy
5 – You are so bored that there is nothing else to achieve

My case was a bit of 4 and 5 to craft my asc set :P
