I love when companies do this. They charge for an “Upgrade” when the game first comes out. Then months later give it away free. It does one of two things. Makes those that buy it feel they wasted money. Makes those that didn’t buy the upgrade wish they had just waited a few months.

It’s akin to when cable companies give “new” customers a better monthly rate than those that have been with them for a while.

Kinda just feels like a slap in the face to me.

Come on, OP. Every product you buy has the risk of getting a discount X time after you buy it. Doesnt matter if it’s a game or washing machine. I recently bought Dishonored at a 50% discount via a steam sale – that game is only a few months old too. Should the “old” buyers get their money back too? Should there never be any discounts, ever?

If it bothers you that much, simply wait a few weeks/months before you buy something so you can profit from the discounts.

Just about every game company does this, even after the game releases. Even Pokemon has promotions where you get a certain critter if you get the game at a certain time after it’s been released. It’s just a promotion to bring in more players. I’m sick of seeing this sort of thing.
