Anet hinted at wanting to add more profession skills in the future and wanting to give us a way to get more skill points. It came back to me when they added the Scroll of Knowledge to the loot table this last patch. Has anyone been spending them? I’ve pretty much held on to all of mine. Looking back, does anyone else think adding additional means of acquiring skill points was necessary? I suppose some part of the player base has done all the skill points in the game and spent their skill points on consumables and whatnot. I haven’t really done that on many of my characters and have quite a few leftover skill points even without the Soks. Is anet planning on making the new skills expensive?

Upgrading siege blueprints requires skill points. As does upgrading crafting materials. As does making equipment in the mystic forge. As do legendaries, bloodstone shard, clover recipe, etc.

Upgrading siege is quite skill point heavy.

I’m saving mine (as well as the birthday experience scroll) for such a time a new race is added to the game (if ever).

I suppose they did make more skill point sinks than I remembered. Perhaps they thought it would take people too long to acquire enough skill points? That sounds a bit odd given that they are attempting to keep people in the game longer with some of their other efforts. Although, I imagine that philosophy doesn’t apply to all aspects of the game. I guess I was just hoping to hear more about the additional skills or even an explicit reason for the scrolls. I thought their addition flew under the radar a bit.
