I just wanted to say thank you for helping a good friend out today, not once but twice. You see, he’s elderly like i am… prone to mistakes of reason and judgement. Sometimes we are too hasty and do not read the fine print.

Anyways, he bought his first set of Ascended trinkets yesterday, and without asking for advice decided that two of his rings would both be Red Death. Well, i guess it was also my fault for not letting him know that they are unique and he can’t wear both at the same time. Needless to say, he was upset as he could not fathom why.

I told him to email support, you guys/gals would take care of him. And you did. A mistake was made on the first go around, but i calmed him down and told him to have faith. Email again and be precise about the circumstances and have faith.

You helped clear that all up for him, not once but twice in the same day. The day after it happened even. I can’t say more about your customer dedication. Kudos ANET! Also, than you for making my friend once again happy to play your great game.

Yay!!! I am so happy your friend was taken care of!!! I too have had nothing but good luck with customer support….grin…and like you and your friend I too am up there in age, and, like your friend, I too just bought my first set of ascended trinkets..and I too messed up, though in a different way…I am too embarrassed to say what I did

The brightside, and what kept me from contacting support, is those ascended trinkets are account bound and not soul bound

Two of my alts are happy campers right now..and I shall amass more laurels

Glad to hear that things worked out. Tell your friend (if you haven’t already) that this happens ALL the time. I have seen numerous threads about people making this mistake, and no doubt, many more make this mistake and never post about it. He is not alone lol.

Also, I too have had nothing but good experiences with Anet CS. Sometimes you have to be patient but all things considered, for an MMO, their CS is amazing.

I will offer a shout out. I missed an item leaving the gem store by an hour and a very friendly and helpful GM allowed me a one off buy of it.

Great service, im fnding more and more reasons to compliment their support these days

Kudos, great to hear.

My experiences with CS have been positive aswell in the past.

Last time I had to contact them was when I bought an extra banktab expansion even though I was caped (there was no warning and I had assumed arenanet had increased the cap). Took 2-3 days but was cleared up with a very friendly CS rep.

My general advice to anyone contacting CS is what I tell everyone who contacts others for help (or who wants something from someone):

1.) be polite! Yes, you might be correct and have an absolutely valid complaint, demand or other desire for whatever reason, doesn’t mean you need to be a d***k about it. Honey catches more flies than vinegar, and while the person on the other side might be infinately more complex than a fly, they will respond in the same way usually.

2.) Be precise. Same as writing essays in school. If your teacher cann’t decipher it, it’s wrong. Making life easy on the other side and letting them know you are not some mumbling i***t helps.

3.) Be persistant but friendly. Don’t give up right away. Let the other side know that this is important to you and you would love to have this issue resolved. Stay friendly though, if the other side decides they don’t want to help you, things will get infinately harder.

I haven’t needed to contact support directly myself, but I have a similar story with my friend and the new account-wide slots. They fixed it for him within a day.

Anet’s CS team is amazing. If I do have a problem sometime down the road, I know I’m in good hands.

Very good experiences here too. Accidently added a new HoT serial to the wrong account, took only two hours to sort everything out. Very pleased with the support staff
