The GW2 world is filled with angels, dolls, and models. I want to see some of the monstrosities people have been able to create. Show me your ugliest character! Something that screams ‘nightmare fuel.’

This is an old topic, I know.

I am making a new character and want to make it ugly. Trouble is I am quite uncreative.
Please post a pic of your ugliest character so I can steal some hints. Race does not matter. (no real life photos please! ).

Here is my current attempt. He looks too cute still.

inb4 people only post asuras and charr and someone gets offended because apparently asuras and charr need social justice and inclusion as well

There ARE no ugly characters in GW2. They are all supermodels/superathletes. Professor Knowitall has spoken!

EDIT: You might check out a Total Makeover Kit too… they have added a few new faces that you don’t get to choose from during character creation.

I am not settled on Asura, but will likely go Charr or Asura.

Yeah, you don’t have to be an Asura…but it sure is hard to be anyone else. I’ll tell you what’s impossible to make ugly: Sylvari…

Most of my attempts at making “ugly” characters (or even “old” characters—old people aren’t ugly :[ ) have resulted in semi-unattractive, attractive young people. The only advice I have: when in doubt, go square. Stick with extremes, like stretching out their faces. As much as possible. Make them look like frogs.

Also, psychologically, angry/mean = ugly. Studies have found that people tend to associate unpleasantness with ugliness. So get your frown on >:[

All this said, check out some of the NPCs I found with elderly faces. Shame players can’t use some of those. (The human with grey hair was my vain attempt at trying to make someone look old.)

That’s what I was thinking and it’s the type of non “pretty boy” faces I would like to see ANet make more of.

Actually, not bad for a Necromancer char. My necro Sylvari has that spike hairstyle.

You could have made her even uglier if you gave her a greenish skin and with a red glow so it looks like she is rotting with the muscle underneath the skin showing through rents in the skin. ^^

I’m not too big on making characters that are not pleasing to my eye, but I can’t help but look at the ones others make so I’ll definitely be watching the thread (posting here is kind of my way of tracking this thread).

Aww I recently beautified my ugliest ones. I might have to go make one now.

I am one of those guys who finds the aforementioned angels, dolls and models creepy as all hell. It’s probably just me but there comes a point where the faces are so perfect and flawless that the character ends up looking like a horror movie china doll or something.
I do tend to get irrationally scared of barbie dolls and the like, that must have something to do with it. But seriously- No face is that perfect, not even ones on the touched up cosmetics commercials. Gnashblade must be making a killing off those lol

I only ever use angels, dolls, and models. I couldn’t stand playing an ugly character.

Those graphics settings certainly don’t help him at all either.

When your character is that ugly, it might be for the best to have it on lower settings.

I play on a 9-year old Dell with an 8400 GS video card, and for the most part GW2 runs great! ’Cept in zergy boss fights when everybody attacks all at once, with Maw being the worst. Have to aim the camera at the ground for that one, or else my fps becomes spf. :-D

If I live long enough I may get a better PC someday. Dang priorities…
