Please don’t take this as a QQ thread. I’m not complaining but just sharing my thoughts. I’m not really for or against the sigil changes at the moment.

I point at the stacker change. If we unequip said weapon we loose the stacks we gained. Most WWW I am aware of would get their 25 stacks and swap out.

With the new patch 2handers, with double sigils most likely one of them will have a stacker sigil in them and another sigil which puts us back to square one for most builds.

For 1handers, we lost a sigil. Which could have been night, force, accuracy, bursting, etc

Now I know some sigils are receiving a buff, so this could in fact a buff in the end. We will find out when the patch comes out.

My thinking could be off base and I may have missed something.

If someone equips two 2-handers, they’ll be in the exact same position as someone who equips four 1-handers. After all, both players will still have access to 4 sigil slots total.

As for swapping out weapons, I personally don’t think it’s right that you could build up a bonus and then swap the weapons out. It kind of defeats the point in having to make a choice if you can do that.

2 × 1h weapons have had a kind of stealth nerf, because 2h weapons have a higher base damage. So if you like the skills on a 2h pretty much the same as the skills on 2x 1h then you will be always be better off picking the 2h.

Also, it may even be a bigger nerf to 1h weapons, because they had a balance pass over all the sigils as well, so some sigils may have had there effects nerfed slightly. With 2h its win win because an extra sigil is always going to better than 1 sigil, but 2x 1h users have got nothing, because they already used 2 sigils.

Being able to keep the stacks after swapping out the weapon is gimmicky. I’m glad they are removing that.

I’m just seeing people post this is a buff to dps to make up for the ferocity change. I’m not so sure.

It’s not a yes/no thing. In some cases it will be a buff, in others it will be a nerf.

Personally, I agree with some of the others in being glad that they’re removing the ability to build stacks and then unequip the weapon while keeping the stacks.

Totally agree.

Keep the stacks after removing the weapon was always a bug imo, those sigils was supposed to make the player decide between get more stats but after cap be useless sigil or have less stats but more utility 100% of the time.

I do not believe this fix is regarding weapon swapping, which is what it sounds like you guys are talking about.

More specifically, if has to do with completely unequipping a weapon, and then equipping a new one instead (as some of us single weapon wielders felt sort of forced to do).

Could be wrong though. Guess we’ll see when the patch goes live

The stacking-sigil change is technically a nerf from the way it works now, yes. But it should have never worked that way to begin with. Why should you get the benefit from a sigil you’ve completely removed from your character? If I unequip a Signet skill do I keep the bonus stats from that signet until I go down? If I unequip a piece of armor do I still get the protection from it? No.

If you unequip something, you lose the benefits you gain from having that equipped. That’s how it should be. Sigil stacking was basically an exploit, and I’m surprised it wasn’t stamped out long ago. It wouldn’t seem like such a nerf it had been removed a month after launch, instead of waiting a year and a half when people are “used to” exploiting it for so long.

Lotta people seem to be under the impression that just swapping sets will drop the stacks. Others use ‘swap’ and ‘unequip’ interchangeably. Get’s a little confuzzling to say the least. lol.
