Garillobot- Ranger * Shilombish Hokoffi- Necro
Ahalaia Afabi Sipi- Thief *
Any tips on coming by these? I’ve done the skritt and dredge bag farming, combining up nuggets, an alt parked at JP chest, and lots more clicking. The only thing standing in the way of my Juggernaut is a pile of 200 more and this item seemingly takes this particular legendary to another level than others.
I have a full time career and family and would appreciate some direction, as this has become a pain. Dedicating my 2-3 hours (if lucky enough)of playtime a day/bi-daily for 4-5 of these is in no way enjoyable, and I’m not paying money to just buy them (or a legendary, which is a complaint of its own)
My preemptive thanks.
This sums up my major frustration with Gw2… Its rewards system has always been a major gripe of mine. RNG drops and the fact that everything you need is available everywhere but nowhere specific. This means you cant really farm for a specific item. The only way is to farm for money which is why we have champ trains etc because at the end of the day, Money buys everything… and i mean everything.
My point being, your far better off farming gold and just buying them because its the only way you can guarantee the effort you put in… will reward you what you want.
Just run jumping puzzles and and hidden chests on level 20-30 characters. You’ll almost always get silver doubloons in those chests.
I could have sworn I responded to a thread exactly like this just recently.
Mostly because they mentioned skritt bags.
Perhaps try your luck with dredge bags in Lornars. While I was waiting for Marionette, I would farm them and get a doubloon every 30-80 bags.
I also have my alts sitting at the pirate puzzle to log in and loot.
There’s no magic bullet to obtaining them. They are simply pretty rare. Frustrating if you need a stack of them to be sure.
The issue with the silver doubloons is that it is imo a faulty thing for a legendary. Yes, lorewise it does make sense that you need them to make quicksilver.
And actually, the amount of doubloons dropping in game is high.
The problem is that I think that, like me, most people dont check the tradepost for every item you get. on top of that, copper, gold and platinum doubloons are virtually worthless. So you really need to know they are valuable before you decide to chceck the TP. I gues everyday thousands of silver doubloons are destroyed by jsut selling them to the merchant by people who jsut don’t know.
The best solution would be for anet to change the recipe. silver doubloons are not endgame content so shouldnt be included in an endgame recipe.
till then the people who need them should raise awareness.
1: make sure you advertise in game that you have an offer for silver doubloons on the tradepost for xxx gold and xxx silver.
2: along time ago I made a threat on the player helping players to explain how valuable it is to park a 20-30 character you are not using at a jumping puzzle chest to gather the content with a change to get a doubloon.
If awareness is raised I think the price will drop atleast with 50%.
Make a L20ish alt. Do the 3 easy jump puzzles in LA, the one in Southsun Cove easily accessed from LA, the one in Queensdale (make sure you get the other chests in the puzzle), and the first one in Caledon Forest. I do this to sell for gold and get no less than 2 per cycle/day and it takes less than half an hour. Parking an alt at the end of just one JP isn’t going to do it for you.
