I was given this as a gift, so I can’t not use it. Unfortunately, it seems at first to be less effective than the Mystic Salvage Kit. I seem to generally receive significantly less materials (such as ectoplasm or rarer materials).

Of course, this is probably just my imagination, but I’d like some more metrics to form an opinion.

I think the only answer you’re going to get is RNGW2 has not been in your favor recently.

You need to compare a 500 or 1,000 salvages before drawing any conclusions. I’d recommend that you continue to use Mystics when you have bank access, since the are cheaper per use. Reserve the Silver-Fed for when you are doing heavy farming and won’t be able to move rares/exos to your account vault.
