Been standing at Indigo cave for about 30mins with nobody here. I like this game but i don’t understand how the content can be future-proofed when it’s so group focused. Same with HoT, which i now feel ridiculously pressured to grind through for weeks even though i simply don’t have the time. The amount of people i see saying “GW2 is great because it can be taken casually at your own pace”. Absolute rubbish! If you don’t keep up then you’ll be left with dead areas and lost content. How am i supposed to get the luminescent gear? Is there a peak time on the EU servers? Anybody got any tips at all for how to get around this problem? It’s incredbly frustrating.

Have you checked lfg? I don’t think I’ve ever had problems getting on to a populated SW map (EU player as well)

With event maps like the SW, it is recommended to open the LFG window and join a map where there are people doing the event.

I agree with that. Grinding has become the core element in GW2, which is a real shame.

Just the other day, when I was grinding for my ascended back item in Draconis Mons, I saw people (who were about to finish up said collection) write things along the lines of, “Just one more Druid Runestone, and then it’s going to be ‘Bye-bye, Draconis Mons’ for good.” I think that says a lot about how people perceive the grinding nature of those maps.

How am i supposed to get the luminescent gear? Is there a peak time on the EU servers? Anybody got any tips at all for how to get around this problem? It’s incredbly frustrating.

Like I said, join event maps if the map you are on is empty. Everyone else does.

If there is currently no event being advertized in LFG (which is rarely the case), then open a squad yourself and taxi people in. You’ll see how many will join.

According to the forum clock you posted this at about 12:10am in the UK. Which means it was 1 or 2 in the morning in mainland Europe. Even on a Friday night most people are asleep (or not at home) at that time.

In my experience Silverwastes population crashes after 11pm UK-time (and that time seems to stay the same regardless of whether we’re on GMT or BST). You’re highly unlikely to find an active meta-event map after that.

But weeknight evenings and pretty much all day (well from about 7am onwards, don’t think I’ve been on before then) on weekends there are active maps. You will need to use the LFG tool to find them rather than hoping to simply load into one straight away, but they’re there.

Thanks for the heads up about the LFG system. It’s not something i’ve ever really looked into. I assumed it was just for dungeons etc. I’m glad to see this option though, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. I guess i can chill doing some mat farming or something in the later hours then
