Simple UI mods? Tired of cluttered UI
Promised to support every UI thread that came up, and will continue that trend.
C’mon Anet GW1 had awesome UI customization!
So long Treeface.
“…Kormir? I know not of whom you speak.”
There are no mods for GW2. ArenaNet decided to not include any modding/addon support in the game at all.
The API is the only mechanism people have to write addons and it’s limited to the persisted character and account state (things like your inventory and bank contents, character tradeskills and so on) but it does not have any current in-game information (like your health or skill cooldowns). Some people have used it to write overlays but, again, you cannot write a mod or addon for GW2.
There are no mods for GW2.
Yes there are. Just because they’re not supported by the devs doesn’t mean mods don’t exist.
Just note OP, that if you use a third party program to alter your game, if your account is compromised the support team may not be able to help you.

Well, I based my statement on the fact that ArenaNet haven’t produced an addon API similar to WoWs so that people can create addons or mods that they’re sure are OK coupled with the fact that ArenaNet’s general policy is that they won’t OK any mods and that using any mod that gives you an advantage is a bannable offence and their support won’t be able to help if anything goes wrong, so using any mod that alters the game files or memory is a very dodgy proposition, IMO.
There may be mods out there but the difference between what we’d consider a mod and what ArenaNet would consider a hack (and there are definitely hacks out there) are subtle and may lead to problems for the mod user. Caveat actor.
@Pifil, I’m aware of all of that, just the way you phrased it sounded like “there are no mods full stop end of story”. I’m sure what you meant to say was “there are no supported mods”. I’m also well aware of the ToS and their stance of mods/addons, which is why I added that second paragraph.
@OP, if you haven’t checked that link I posted yet, what you’re probably after is ICM (Immersive Combat Mode). Lots of players use it to remove aspects of the UI, while keeping the skill and health bars on at a minimum (there are settings that allow you to change what you want left alone). Again, just be aware that if you use it and your account becomes compromised, that support may not be able to help you out.

I don’t need […] kittened personal story arrow
You can disable that in the general options; choices are “disable personal story”, or “disable personal story and events”, which turn off the little “go in that direction to do the thing” arrow and indicator.
Sadly, or gladly, it won’t remove the green star from the minimap if you disable personal story, but it does mean that you get event pointers even if you have not finished all the PS stuff on this character.
