Ok i would like to know if anyone else shares my opinion? Should you be able to gain dungeon currency through solo play?
I’m sick of being told i need x equipment to “Join a group” or “Join a dungeon running guild”, plus the random groups i tend to encounter enjoy kicking or just downright bullying if you are not perfect.
I know its a MMO before you start getting on my back but surely a little solo dungeoning would be a benefit, maybe ?

But you can solo dungeons…

And if you’re not yet skilled enough to do so you can at least take down some of the mid bosses to get bags with 3 tokens in them.

First off outside Arah and fractals it really isn’t an issue. None of the content is so hard you need X class running X build to complete it. Recruit for the dungeon yourself and set the parameters you feel are necessary for membership (Level, AP, Zerker Gear, Fun, etc.) none of this really maters but it makes some players feel better. Start the dungeon yourself so kicking you is not an option.

Since all top gear has the same stats and multiple paths to get it, (except looks and some select rune sets) it is completely possible to get all the gear you need without out every stepping in a dungeon. You have a great deal of options when it comes to gearing.

As far as look goes. I love the look of the leather Arah set, but looks don’t mean a thing in the face of that grind. However. some people have geared themselves and created their builds to get that content done quickly and safely. Whats my point? All of us at one time or another have had to conform to get something we want (going to work, buying dinner, being nice, etc). If you aren’t willing to do what it takes then why should the entire game world conform to you and you alone?

This game is mostly solo play as it is. Dungeons for many are only fun due to other people being there. Grit your teeth and start your own runs where you can run any build you like and no one will care.

Outsdie of everything, there is not a class or gear requirement. One of the benefits of GW2 right now is that there is no DPS meter, where your bad damage is readily visible to others.

Arah is populated with the most “gear” check runs, but even with that I see more messages about being expereinced rather than “serker only”. Few times I would see a “Looking for a expereinced Guardian” which is understandable, unless you can provide what the guardian could in that group If you can’t find another group, it’s not even that hard. If you can’t start your own, I’m sure there are plenty of people who don’t play Mes/War/Guard who are willing to join you, because of how “huge” of a problem this is.
