Situation untenable.
there is a HUGE diffrence between a botter and someone going AFK and setting turrets on the ground.. or keybinding \ holding a key down with a shoe etc etc. atleast get your facts straight before you QQ on the forums. Yes the caps are stupid and are probably going to make ALOT of people run back to WoW. but im GLAD! more GW2 for me TY buh bye.
good. adapt, or disappear. im not saying this to be rude, but GW2 isnt like “any other” game. it is what it is.
So we should only be able to play the way arenanet narrowly define? OK its their game, they can do that but people will disappear and it will be interesting to see how the DE system operates if the pop declines drastically.
And this is not even mentioning the lack of transparency over the change to the anti event farming mechanic, no explanation nothing. Heck if the change is just because of bots its ludicrous the way it punishes normal players.

I was hugely hyped to farm 1 million karma for a legendary, but now that I can’t do events without constantly being afraid of hitting the cap (and still hitting it anyway.), I’m not interested in doing anything else in this game.
You and your family can grind good gear all you want for as long as you want…..
…..just not in the same place or killing the same mobs.
From all reports this is actually incorrect. The event anti farming mechanism applies to all events not just the same repeated event. You do a certain number of events in a certain time frame and all events will have diminished returns for the player. This is the stupidity of it. If they are doing it to get rid of bots it should apply to the same event only. Every day players are being punished for something they didn’t do so of course they don’t like it.

This game was fun but now its just not worth playing. Everywhere I go there are more bots than players, I can’t earn enough coins or get enough drops to craft gear with, the cost of moving around using waypoints is too high versus how much money is gained in pve. There are just too many negative things that far outweigh the positives in this game to make it enjoyable. Is their programming so shoddy that they cannot do anything about botting or is the botting an internal stream of cash?

“The game is engineered around grind” – that’s your problem right there. Learn to live with the fact that this game is NOT about uber-epic loot like D3, it’s about the journey. And these farming nerfs are against bots, who similarly to you, stand there doing the same event over and over, and killing the same things over and over. Sure you’re human?
Yea, lots of bots and spammers. I report them all the time, but nothing seem to be done about them.
The game is good, but there needs to be more content end game. I got to a high level casually and have no incentive to re-do what is basically the same stuff again and again.
Really, the hearts and DE feels boring, and they essentially boils down to Kill X number of this, Collect X number of that, protect someone, kill mob leader. It gets old.

This is really a point most of apologists seem to ignore.
A well written OP from a person clearly unhappy with the game speaking negatively about Arena Net. I’m surprised he hasn’t been infracted yet.
I also agree with him.
Only complaint is they don’t tell you how to avoid these caps. It’s one thing to make it so you don’t have people scripting around your system, it’s another to leave us all in the dark if we want to play efficiently.
The drop rates are all over the place. I can move five inches and kill the same kind of mob for immediate rewards and other times travel to different zones and get literally nothing but grays.
This seems off – I remember when you could -actually- net enough crafting mats with a little time and dedication. Now you just have no clue what’s going to happen – in a bad way. You rely more on the TP than ever now to get your crafts up, let alone when you finally hit the point where you need ectos… It’s a little frustrating. At least with TF2 they explained to the community exactly how the system worked, so that the players that cared could understand and play without becoming frustrated at a system that lays over everything so ominously.
OP said every thing I wanted to.
I am sick of game companies forcing me to play the way they want me to.
If I want to kill in one area for 5 hours and farm. Let me do it with out punishing me. Please. I like doing it. It is fun for me.
this, omg, this. It may be hard for some people to believe, but some of us like to farm mobs. yes, we LIKE it as an in-game activity. It’s too bad Anet feels they need to punish this playstyle.
Hell, even their own Dynamic events are structured and timed for farming. In some maps, the DE’s overlap and just doing those will earn you a hefty Anti-farm code, which means you get next to nothing for doing EXACTLY what their game is letting you do without having to exploit at all!
Ending your post with i’m not even going to come back and defend my post when someone disagrees invalidates it completely
If you’re not interested in defending your point of view then it’s a blog and should be posted on a blog or facebook
Also, your post is wrong on all accounts. I’m not even going to say why because you’re just a hater. See how that works?
