I havent played for a bit, but I checked out my bank today and realised something. I think I’ve been ripped off. No my acc wasnt hacked.

The thing is the patch that introduced spirit shards changed all skillpoint scrolls into bags with the new currency. There would be no problem, but the thing is that my two stacks of 250 scrolls in the bank were both exchanged for ONE bag containing five spirits shards each. So for two stacks of scrolls (one full and the other almost full- thats almost 500 skill points) I received 10 spirit shards.

Now I wonder am I missing something here or was I just ripped of by the game?
I’m pretty sure anet didnt tell us to use those scrolls before the patch. So did they do it on purpose? Or did I mix something up and those bags were for something else?

Please do understand, 500 skill points should be more than 10 shards, and if it turns out that my suspicions are true, then kitten this is really unfair for all the ppl who stored their scrolls. The exchange rate is just bullkitten.

Your scrolls should have automatically been rolled into your wallet, not changed into bags of shards. If your number of spirit shards in your wallet seems wrong, you should contact support.

Well thats the thing. I dont know how much skill points I had on all my characters so I have no way of checking now :/
What items were changed into those bags? It could be that I mixed stuff up and those two thigs were something different.

I just checked the wiki and it seems I was wrong. Those werent scrolls that got turned into those bags but this : http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skill_Point_Scroll

Yep. The skill point scrolls I hadn’t used (2 or 3 in my bank and 1 in a characters inventory) didn’t get turned into bags, they just vanished and the spirit shards got added to the total in my wallet, along with ones from spare skill points.

So how do we earn them now ? Only randomly from champbags without even
a notification ? I think i got 2 in Frostgorge last week from 21 bags, and null from
last Jormag events where i had 8 chests.

Else not even anything anymore from level up ?

From leveling up you’re getting Hero Points now.

You get a bag with 3 Spirit Shards from completing your dailies. I have had a few drop off of mobs and the other way is champ bags. If you use a Tome of Knowledge on a level 80, it becomes a spirit shard (on a non-80 it’s a level up + hero point). It’s a nerf (to those of us who make gold off of our skill points) that they aren’t calling a nerf because they split the purpose of skill points.
