As a person who grew up where it snows in winter and having spent a lot of time as a kid sliding down snowy hills, it’s saddening (and counter-intuitive) when you try the same in this game (those snowy hills are just asking for it) and you take fall damage, or even die if the hill is big enough.

I get it’s a game and there are technical and design issues behind everything, but I still wish sliding was safer, especially in snow.

And if I could buy a sled or skis….

Up until not too long ago, you used to run the risk of dying simply by running down a slope, even without actually falling.

I have to +1 this post. More interactivity from the environments like this could be really fun. And no I don’t mean being hit 200x with 100 damage from falling, while walking on a slight slope. It would be fun, if it was even just an event. For 1 week, snowy areas have a slippery feel and players take no damage by falling on snow. To add to this, allow the npcs to be affected by this, and laugh as you watch spiders and wolves falling down a steep slope if they get too close to the edge. This would proably cause too many bugs though…. Either way, even if just the players get extra mechanics in the snow for a week, I feel it could be a fun event.
