(Finally been waiting a while for the “General” forum to appear)
When Guild wars 2 first was showed to the public it caught my eyes fairly quickly, and when it finally was closing in on launch i decided to purchase the CE.
When i finally got it i was mainly pleased and surprised with the sher size of the Rythlock Statue, and quickly went through the rest of the box to discover that it had all a CE should have, an art book, statue or vanity item and the “soundtrack”, well almost.
Finally having looked through the whole box it was time to take a look at the soundtrack and it is here my dissapointment struck. At first glance everything seemed fine untill i saw the text “Best of GW2” something which i had not noticed earlier when i ordered it. I look at the back of cd cover only to see 6 songs there. So i though to myself “Surley there has to be more music from the game”, so i put it into computer and played it of only to find out it was prety much just the main themes for each race…
Then i looked through the rest of the box to find som extra information and found a 5$ Discount card inside for the full soundtrack +unreleased tracks. Which it turns out is a 4 disc box which costs 30$. It is here i get fairly annoyed on the whole ordeal.
Im sorry but i find this fairly inexcusable. If A-net actually wanted the extra 25$-30$ they should have included it on the CE along with the full soundtrack. But instead there is just a teaser with a “gift card” which feels like a poor excuse to earn more money. Instead it have caused me to be more motivated to turn to piracy instead.
This is purely personal opinion. Why am i getting disappointment of this?
Its becuase i am a person who prefer soundtracks and OST’s from various shows, animes, games rather than mainstream music.
Why exactly this?
Its because i find it more pleasing and entertaining to hear the music built around a universe, since puts my mind and imagination to work, dreaming and “living” into the fictional universe and puting the emotions to work.
But again i am fairly pleased with both the Statue (though i would have preferd if the statue was hard plastic but it is understandable that it’s soft due to all the pointy parts.) and the artbook which contains beatifull artwork, and Kudos for the 3d designers that have managed to replicate the artowork ingame and for last thanks the composer for making the beatifull sounds of GW2.
Sorry for spelling and gramatical errors.
And sorry if i have broken any codes of conducts in this post.
