Small Guilds
It seems to me that A-Net is trying to cut out or strong arm small guild folks to join a
big guild. This could be avoided by making it possible for guilds to be in a alliance.
In that way a group of small guilds could band together and get done what a large
guild could do.
There is nothing stopping you from forming an alliance with other guilds on your server.

I am still baffled by this. Anet seems to have missed the mark by a wife margin on this. Thankfully it won’t effect my guild but that doesn’t mean I don’t empathize with those it does.
It’s very silly.
Well I’m in a small guild and we’re already researching the guild bounty thingy. I’ll let you know if we can do it or not. I think all we need to see is an example of a small guild (say 10 members) finishing t3 bounties. I hope a group can though.

That is a very sad way to implement new guild features/content. Please give some thought to your answers instead of being obtuse.

Are your referring to my answer? There are numerous servers with guild alliances, we have an informal alliance with other guilds on our server. Maybe I do not understand what the OP is asking. Sorry if I misunderstood. OP made it sound as though this was not possible.

I think the impact that all small guilds currently feel is that we have to kill ourselves to amass a large amount of influence only to unlock something we aren’t even sure a group of maybe 5-10 active players can do. It seems that Anet’s idea of a small guild isn’t as few as 5 people, even though lots of guilds have nearly that few people online at any given time. And this new content was said to be something even a “small guild” could accomplish (after unlocks, of course). Guess that remains to be seen.
I think what the OP meant was creating a formal alliance between two smaller guilds, so that guild missions can jointly be accepted and completed, allowing both to gain full rewards.
This is NOT what ArenaNet suggested when they proposed their “solution” to the problem small guilds face. Their response was basically to run the mission twice, sponsored by each guild one after the other, so that each could get the special mission rewards while the other helped and gained the standard stuff you get from any old DE. Essentially, twice the work for the same result. Personally, I call that a non-solution, but why split hairs?
Of course, disbanding and merging with another guild is much easier, and I think this has been the tertiary goal of these missions all along. If so, well done. Judging from the Guilds forum, that’s something they’ve actually managed to do properly.
There should be no guild content in-game that a five-person guild can’t accomplish.
If Destiny’s Edge can do whatever the kitten they want, player guilds should too.

But DE lost Snaff. And all their members went emo. They actually failed, kinda.

The point, is more, we shouldn’t have to. DIS is a really cool guild(TC here too), but they are a large guild. So you probably wouldn’t understand where those of us in smaller guilds are coming from on this. It’s just a bit disconcerting that Anet would try to strong arm small guilds in pve like this. It takes us a whole lot longer to earn the inf that a bigger guild would get. It’s very sad for us small guys.
My guild lost a few active member’s that joined to an bigger one, leaving us almost empty but we still have the true believer’s, the true members that stay’d with us. We will not bow to A-Net for this new guild mission’s, we will handle thing’s on our own and it will come the day that we can do this, if we can’t, we will do other stuff. We won’t join another guild, it’s not that we dont socialize with other but we want to mantain our image and ideals even if we’re a small guild, and i hope that other small guild’s mantain their image, their essence and not force join bigger guild just to do this..A-Net will see that this is not the answer to have bigger guild’s and will have to adjust this guild missions.
So to other small guilds..don’t lose the thing/image/ideals that led you to create your own guild.

And even if you are in big guild, if they do guild missions when you can’t join you will probably not see them very often. (if ever, nice job “play when you want”)
