I’m so happy that in the patch notes it said that strength runes are now have their 4 rune bonus might on hit duration cut back from 10 to 5 seconds, and the 6 rune bonus scaled from a 7% boost to a 5% boost!

Now I don’t have as much fear for mightstacking celestial god mode eles and mesmers and hambow warriors one-shotting me as much!

Do you guys think this nerf will have made these runes more balanced and fair for pvp and wvw?

If the nerf is viewed as too much of a difference I also suspect that their price could fall to affordable levels eventually if they become less popular, but I still think these runes will be popular, I’m just grateful that Anet has scaled back the power creep a bit.

It’s still a powerful rune, instead of getting 2 stacks of might you now get one with roughly 50% uptime. You still get +45% duration increase and a 5% boost to damage, which is always maintained with sigil of battle.

Basically, this nerf did absolutely nothing except reduce damage by 2%.

Its still a step in the right direction for a healthier and more diverse metagame even if the nerf is small.

Still a good rune, but less overwhelmingly so.

For one runeset to trump build diversity on most classes in most game modes is unhealthy to GW2. Who knows, maybe shatter mesmers or D/D eles will run other runes in pvp now. Basically other options for runes are now a bit more viable because these god mode runes have had their power creep reduced in a slight and fair way.

For economic reasons, the nerf is amazing as the price has plummeted, thus making these runes more accessible to dedicated offensive might stacking builds, yet at the same time making them less overpowered and overall more balanced.

Good news, imo…now I can get some strength runes for a decent price

That just shows there really wasn’t a supply chain shortage, it’s just wealthy players hording them.

And now those players are that much less wealthy for buying them as expensive as they are only for the price has dropped.

Check out the rage runes. They shot up like crazy right as the strength runes were nerfed.

The hilarious part is that Strength runes are still better than Rage or Hoelbrak runes by a mile. People are really foolish if they’ve bought those runes like they are a replacement.
